Hey everyone,

A friend of mine is having a terrible run of luck lately with her phone.

The first problem has been occuring for awhile. Basically she plugs the phone into the charge and it charges part of the time but it keeps disconnecting and giving her messages to check the connection. I don't have the exact wording of the message but i'm sure you experts will

The second problem just occured tonight and she no longer has light on the main LCD.

She can't afford to replace the phone as she's still under contract. Is there anything I can check on the phone to see if these problems are fixable.

I eagerly await your response and thank you in advance

Mark

I had the same problem with my 8900. It's the charger, not the phone. Aftermarket chargers usually don't work. I got one with mine, and I had to put it in a certain way, and do all this stuff just so it would charge.

Do you have Verizon Wireless, also insurance? If so, you can just go up to Verizon, show them your problem, and they will more than like you give you a replacement.

She's with Telus.

As for the charger. I'm not sure if it's after-market charger or not. Would you mind posting what you have to do it get it to charge so she can try that.

Also does that explain both the LCD issue and the battery charging issue or just the latter.

I bought a new charger, and it worked

It was so annoying, it was aftermarket also

i am having the same problem, except i have tried 2 different chargers, when i plug it in i have to apply extreme pressure for the charging sign to come up, and wen i let go it stops charging, i knwo both chargers work on other 8900's but not mine...
