CDM8940 anyone?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Im thinking of getting one, even though $230 seems really steep for a phone that doesnt even have bluetooth. My queston to you Howardforum people (since you guys are the only ones that actually know whats going on), what do you think of the 8940?

Is the speakerphone better then the 8900?

what about the camera/video camera?

Is the battery life as good as the 8900 (which I had no complaints about as far as battery life is concerned)?

Any other opinions, complaints, dire warnings youd like to give me feel free

Thanks!

Thanks for the review...is the speakerphone as bad as the 8900? idunno, i just feel like 230 bucks is a lot for something that doesnt really do any one thing particularly well. eh...who am i kidding, im such a sucker for technology, ill probably end up getting it anyways.....

With a two year contract its 300 minus a 70 dollar rebate.

Ive decided against it, I have an amazing digital camera, I couldnt care less about "15 second video clips" I have an ipod which blows that mp3 player away and I just bought a bluetooth adapter and headset for my phone. If I got it for free or a hundred bucks I'd do it, but for 230, Ill wait until these companies can get at least one of three additions right (instead of all of them imperfect).

This is the first time I had a phone with a speakerphone. I think the speakerphone is fair. You can comprehend what the other is saying, and they can comprehend what you are saying, but it doesn't sound good.
Oh the battery life of the phone is fine.

I have this phone... the speaker phone is fair. The main problem is that the speaker is facing away from you when using it. If I turn the speaker facing me, its much better. But then the person on the other end cant hear me very well.

I've decided to go with the Sony Ericsson T608, its not a flip phone but it has speaker and java games and the bluetooth actually can do things besides what Verizon wants you to do. With java games say goodbye to 8 dollar crappy verizon games..

I think the outside speaker functionality is only best when used for playing mp3's. That does not require you to open the phone flip.

well if you were already a suncriber to verizon and you are signing up for another 2 years you got an additional 100 dollars off the phone and they dropped the price recently so i got the phone for 80bucks
