hey all,

I just bought and recieved an unbranded moto mpx220. However the language is in chinese. is there a way to change this...is there an option to change the language back to english? if so, how do you do it? what is the path? I do not know what all the list names are since they are all in chinese.

Hey,

Mines from hongkong so I had the same problem.
I'll try to explain it. It took me 20mins of randomly changing things until I changed the right one lol.

1) turn on the phone (press and hold the power button)

2) click the left soft-key to open the start menu

3) press 9

4) press 8

5) press 9

6) press 6

Youre now in the regional settings

7) press the blue button and pick US English or UK English (if theyre all in chiness then just pick one of the other two)

8) press the blue button

9) press the left soft-key

10) it'll show a msg box in chinese, its telling you that for the changes to take effect you need to restart. so press the left soft-key.

11) turn off the phone (press and hold the power button til it turns off)

12) turn on the phone (press and hold the power button)

13) all should be in ENGLISH. Enjoy your new phone!

Will you still be able to read chinese after you change your regional settings?

Can I use the same method to change my english OS to chinese?

Did you make it up? This is the 2nd time I tried your method. It seem like it will only turn on to regular settings when you press and hold your machine. Can you explain more clear please!

Oh crap, you are just talking about rhe regional settings inside the system settings menu.

btw, why did you repeat this post? Is exactly the same as last time. LOL

You need to have other languages installed to be able to change them. I dont know if all the MPX220s have Chinese installed or just the ones from China.

Search microsoft's website and see if they have language packs for download.
