Hey everyone...

I'm having trouble over what type of phone to buy... a 2G or an 3G phone... I'm currently wanting to lay my hands on a motorola E680 but its 2G... and the price is so steep... its around 800SGD... I want the phone badly but i'm afraid that the phone would eventually be worthless & useless... guys...any idea? if i would buy a 3G phone... what phone should i buy?

I just want a :-
  1. Mp3 Player [Stereo]
  2. Camera [At least 1 megapixel]
  3. Radio FM [Stereo]
  4. Video Recording
  5. 65 - 262k color screen

If you're after a Motorola 3G model, let me refer you to some models:

what cell carriers use 3g already?? i thought they were just doing that in some test markets . . . .

Cingular has deployed 3G at 1900 Mhz in the US as part of the AT&T test market phase that began before the merger. Those markets are: San Francisco, Miami, Dallas, Seattle and San Diego. They plan to add more markets and eventually 3G at 850 Mhz.

In Europe, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Three and a number of other providers are using 3G at 2100 Mhz.

In Japan and South Korea, 3G has been around for a lot longer, those two countries are the most advanced in that sector.

i personally think the e680 satisfies my needs. the e1000 is good but uses transflash (up to 512 mb atm while sd cards have up to 2gb)
i think you should look for phones that use sd cards as that will enable you to have greater storage for mp3s
so i recommend the i-mate jam. never used it but it looks
good luck with whatever phone you end up getting.
