I hae been thinking about getting a SKII for a few weeks, but am having a hard time justifying the purchase to myself...
I am looking for a PDA type device. Something that can easily track my appointments, contacts, task list...basically I currently use a very outdated Palm V (or something...not even sure, I have had it forever).
Well the need for all the time web access has come up a lot. All my clients have AIM (I insisted they start using it for easier contact access for emergencies) or they prefer to communicate via e-mail.
I currently monitor 3 e-mail addys for different client sets to contact me. All POP enabled or can be easily changed to be.
I really like the SKII, played with a friends and it worked pretty slick.
But I did not even think to look at the PDA aspect of it. I know how the IMing works, the web browser...that all seems to work fine for my needs.
The fact that T-Mobile has just released the SKII as pay to go makes it even more attractive as if things cool off for me consulting wise I can just let it sit for a while and not be stuck with a bill.
I have searched, but most of what I have found is about folks questioning the different IM platforms or what type of web sites they can access.
Help!!! I would really like to make my purchase in the next day or so. Thoughts?

The PDA part is actually pretty good. I'm a diehard Palm user & I'm pretty impressed with the SKII's PDA capabilities. If it weren't for the existence of Palms I'd be more than happy with the SKII as my main PDA. It allots plenty of storgage space for contacts(I think you can storeup to 2,000) & notes, and the calendar is pretty intuitive & thorough. It schedules your tasks too & you can set alarms for everything. It's not quite as good as a Palm, but it's the second-best PDA phone I've ever used.

The SK2 works great for me for keeping track of appoints and other daily things.

As far as PDA functions go I really like the SK2. It is the ideal device however I'm finding that I miss my old Pocket PC. My only issue is the recently spotty service. As I write this my device gets no connection (two dot dance) which I'm told is a nationwide outage. I tend to be optimistic so I think of this as growing pains. The one caveat I give this device is the fact that you have web access to everything on the device (with the exception of phone and SMS). This makes entering your contacts rather easy. I like it cuz I can print out my entire address book if necessary and a secretary can have access to my schedule to enter my appointments and notes, as well as answer emails for me if I'm unavailable.
