I am planning on purchasing the S66 this month, as soon as I eligible for a phone upgrade from Cingular, and was wondering if anyone had the chance to try the S66 with the new Jabra BT800 headset? I wanted to know if it worked correctly with all of the BT800 functions with the S66. Thanks in advance for any info anyone is able to provide.

Well I use the Motorola HS801 w/my s66. Works fine, except the headset is defective. I do not see why Jabra's headset will nto work. It's a beautiful product I think you'll enjoy it.

I picked up the BT800 last night at CompUSA. It only took me a few minutes to get it to work.

The biggest problem was the stoopid Windows BlueTooth pairing software. After entering the pairing code, the UI only presents you with a "cancel" button. The "ok" button is missing (horrible QA, Microsoft/Siemens/Cingular!). However, pressing the center button on the D-pad works; the pairing code is accepted and the devices pair quickly.

My initial impression of the BT800 is good. It sounds fine and works according the documentation. There is only a little static, occaisonly. Sound quality is very good and the person I called with it said it sounded fine.

Comfort is good but, the device does "wobble" a bit on the ear. I don't think its a problem. Compared to the Motorola earpieces, its quite big. Everyone will notice that you have something hanging off your ear which, if you are a true alpha-geek, is good. Howeeer, the weight of the device is unnoticable.

The display is ok but, a little small for my eyes. The caller ID works and you can review past calls, select one and dial-it from the BT800. Once you figure out the controls, the menu interface is intuitive enough.

There is a voice dial function but, it won't work with the SX66 because the SX66 doesn't have voice dial. It will be interesting to see if it works after installing voice dial software on the Siemens.

I really like the fact that it comes with a USB charging cable! I look for that feature in all my gadgets as it really simplifies charging. I use a Boxwave Versa charger and USB cables to charge everything and it really cuts down on the amount of gear I carry while traveling. Because of the USB interface, Jabra says they'll be able to offer firmware upgrades. I haven't noticed a need for new firmware but, its great to be able to upgrade when a new BT stack is available.

Over the weekend, I'll play with it some more and try it out on my MPX220. It will be interesting to see how it works with the MPX220's most excellent voice dial software.

My overall, initial impression of the BT800 is good and I recommend the earpiece, although it is expensive compared to the Motorolas. I need to spend some more time playing with it before I can give a final recommendation. Features like battery life and multi-device pairing (up to 8) are still untested.
