Turning calendar reminder alarm off while active phone call?

Hi,
When you set a calendar reminder alarm (appointment etc) and if the reminder pops up while there is an active phone call it really bangs your ear 
very noisy..
Is there a way to silence these alarm if you are actually talking on the phone?
