mac os x + s710 + mpeg to 3gp...Help!!!!

I just upgraded to quick time pro. I have a ton of mpeg files on my mac I want to convert to play on my S710 phone. When I convert the mpeg to 3gp or mp4 it has no audio, the audio tab in quicktime shows no audio track. the original file has audio. How do I export the file so it has sound? Help!!! Thanks
