Key features:

Flashing keypad/LCD on ring
Funlights

I got tired of seem editing each time I had to reflex, so I finally decided just to do it one last time, take all the best aspects of other flexes, and combine them into one great flex.

Note: You'll probably have to change the outer LCD, and the startup/shutdown screens/sounds, but I included custom #pp ones for the default. All in all, though, you shouldn't have to seem edit much, that's the point of this flex.

Tested Phones:
v400 - Kapable-K
v600 - BigDaddy5

Now, without further ado, here you go. Feedback, as in bugs, is welcome, but suggestions will probably be ignored, since I feel that this is the best combination of seems and files out there in a flex.

Flex - The flex on a motorola phone contains all the files you can access via p2k manager and all the seems. Updating a flex will allow you to access new features (as will seem editing) gain new ringtones, get new wallpapers, remove company branding, etc. There are very few provider-branded flexes available though, so if your worried about this, it's a good idea to back up all the seems and files so you can revert back if you need to.

I'd say you didn't read, if after that you still think you need p2kman to update your flex.

And my own question about the flex itself: It says that the camera's faster with this flex in the description (V620 / V3 speed) and I was wondering if that has to do with some sort of seem edit or is it based on the flex version this was built on. Thanks.

recently the v3 flex was tried on e398 and after seem editing and corrections and flashing with 95r flash files it works well!
Now can this your new file be flex with e398?

however, i keep getting an error in line 462 and mff just stops. Am i doin something wrong?

Well, that shouldn't happen, but if it does, try going into PST itself, and opening up a pflex file, then flexing that way.

yup.. you need to pflex it with pst and not use mff.. mff is only for flashing and monster packs, while pflex is for flexing

hey ds, after i tried to flex w/ mff and it didnt work, it screwed up my phone a little, so i then used mff to put the engineering flex on and that worked like a charm -0 errors-

so, mayb mff just isn't good for "custom" flexes?

btw, i graduated from CSULB in winter '05, and they sent me NOTHIN,

so I had to go down to the school yesterday to talk to enrolment services, cause (as im sure u know) the people are USELESS when you call them on the phone for something. The girl at the window was like "oh yeah, i see here that u graduated and everything is fine" which is funny, cause when I called I asked if they could just put my id# in and give me status, and the girl was like "oh no, it's not that simple I'm sorry."

Sorry, I just know u go to CSULB, and I wanted to vent a little to someone who understands

I liked goin there, specially since the CBA was so close to the parking structure, but sometimes, they REALLY piss me off....don't even get me started about changing email passwords.

Phone tester update:

Silverfox tested this flex on a v300 running TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.1DR. 10 errors, but everything runs smoothly.

ok, it made it past 38%, but now i get an error at 55% like some others that says:

I built this flex on 72R, and flexed several times with it on 4FR and 72R, with no problems.

the v400 that it was tested on also had 72R

Well, this is frustrating. I don't get why it works for some and not for others. Maybe it's time to go back to the drawing board.

Could it be the source? As in the uploaded versions? It's just wierd that everyone I've sent it to personally has had success, but the one from here fails at 55% constantly with the same error. Especially when I had someone flex w/10 errors just hours ago and it worked fine.

Someone grab it from my IRC Fserv and test that one.

I did send the flex to the hoster in original .hs format, and he then zipped it up, so maybe it was the e-mail that corrupted it. There are so many possible reasons for errors. I'll test a few more phones in the channel and report back.

I downgraded to 4FR, and tried again with pFlex. I still got the same error message.....

Can the people that were able to get the flex to load post what they were running...firmware, prior flex, lang pack, ect. Maybe we can find a correlation.

I'm suspecting the original file that was hosted is corrupt.

I'm testing it on 2 phones right now, in teh channel. A v505, courtesy of rigg, and a v600 courtesy of Connect3d.

I'll report back once it's done.

This one worked on another v600 running 58R, courtesy of Connect3d

Rigg is awaiting the flex right now, running 4AR and will test it asap.

So it would appear either my e-mail was corrupt, or the zip file that was created from my e-mail. Either way, this flex should work now.

just used the new flex which flashed without a problem on my v525 however a couple of things aren't working correctly now.

The most noticeable thing is the stock ringtone (classic) isnt working at all. I've noticed the side button is also silent now (like it would behave if it's disabled via the gain table) so wondering if these are linked?

Although the new startup sound is interesting I probably need to change it to something a little more suitable around customers is there a simple way to alter that?

other than that the phone seems to be performing quite quickly

edit: ok going further through the ringtones seems a few aren't working so it must be the gain table setting, what were the custom tones btw because I can't seem to spot the new ones in the list?

Everything you've said works correctly.

Side keys where disabled on purpose.

load a new mp3 called Start~up.mp3 to your audio folder to replace the default one.

The ringtones where deleted, but the menu items (classical, etc) where left on. I guess you could call that a bug. That was done though to add more room for you, so you can either use the default ringtone (soldier), or upload your own.

I'm a little confused about the ringtones now though as I don't have the soldier tone listed anywhere on my phone? and all the ringtones have defaulted to classic

can I just confirm you muted the side buttons by the gaintable? I like the fact that they are off but I'd like to upload my own gaintable to adjust other volumes to my needs and was wondering if that will affect your settings at all?

gaintable only affects the gaintable and nothing else.. so it'll be safe to up your old one

Yes, and you shouldn't need to upload your own gaintable, I edited the gaintable on there to 3 for the earpiece, and the speakerphone/ringtones. The system tone was brought down to 0, to eliminate the side key buttons.

Alright, I think it's updated now. Redownload the flex, and all the files should be 100% now. All the ringtones, wallpapers, etc. I fixed that bug, I think.

Should be over 2 megs now, unrar'd.

my results (as compared to the stock attws flex which came w/ my phone)

menus and scrolling: WAY faster
Camera: Faster + Seemingly better low light pics
all at&t branding is now finally gone

a couple of seem edits to make it JUST the way I like it and this is how my phone SHOULD have been when I bought it.

you guys seem to know what the deal it so can some one help me out? my phone is practically dead..it can turn on i know this because the keypad lights up...so im trying to flash/flex it but when i plug the usb into my computer new found hardware tries to install all theses drivers but i dont have any. anyone know whats going on?

ahhh u see ive read all i can...ive installed all the prgrams i needed and even had my phone connected for a while...then it just stopped working...and now my phone wont connect and the new found hardware just seems to keep me down...thats the problem im having...connecting the phone. i only got it ot connect to MPT not p2k or PST

Im game.

Will this effect the changes I did already to my phone. I mean will I have to reupload the funlight/change the outside text again/reinput the email & browser settings/reupload spcolor, Basicaly rehack my phone? So I wont be suprised if everything is gone when I restart.

Ok used the updated file and all the files are there now which I then promptly deleted for more space

ok couple of quick questions. First off on the main screen under the provider it now shows up as GPRS where it used to show up the suburb I was in. I know it's probably a simple menu setting so I was just hoping someone could tell me how to switch it back to telling me my location.

2nd thing is I've downloaded the nokia sms tone in mid format (from the smstones thread in these forums) Using motokit I transferred the file over into the audio folder but it does not show up in the profiles/ringtones section. it does show up in the media/sounds section though. Is there anything special I need to do to add this as a sms tone?

1. turn off gprs auto-attach in the engineering menu, or seem edit it away
2. upload it with MPT, not motokit, p2k, etc.

How can I get alarm to work. I only have 4 ring tones to choose from the Alarm, and none of them work. How can I get all the sounds in the media to work with my alarm and ring tones. Thanks.

Use the updated version of the flex, as it has an mp3 you can use, or upload your own mp3.

I addressed that issue earlier. The tones where removed for space considerations, but they where still listed in the flex.

I just updated the flex on my v600 with the phonephreaks one, now when I go to ring details (ringstyles->Loud Detail) it just spits me back to the ringstyles menu. How can I fix this?

After some searching it looks like it's screwed up because I didn't set my ringers to all be silent.

I still can't find any way to recover from this?

I can't use AIM, but I did include it just to eliminate the amount of seem editing required.

Update: blguiserv tested on v220, only bug is the volume keys are reversed, up is down, down is up.

All home keys are customizeable, so I guess they weren't befoe.

I have no option to change the color of the lights.

That really sucks and the turn on and turn off sounds are pretty bad.

Light colors can be changed, if you mean the funlight on the front of the v600.

startup and shutdown can be changed too if you want, I eplained that earlier.

This flex contains a v620 funlight.pat

You can test it in motokit, it's there.

Nope, I went through and activated bit 4, in offset 7 down, A-across, which should be the right one, in seem 0032_0001.

No dice. Still waiting for the other 0032 to be posted so I can try it out, see if indeed it does work, of it was a fluke.

blah, flexed with this. it didn't help. couldn't updagte time or date anymore. the option wasn't there. oh well, flexing to engineering now.

You could have just used a seem edit to get that back in I guess.

What S/W version have you got on the V400? I tried it on a V600 with 58R and it only had vibe then ring.

v600 w/72R, no dice. Seems like a fluke to me. Not saying he's lying, just seems like the exception to the rule.

Edit: This seems has some other tweaks, such as the standard moto startup/shutdown gifs. Not that I'm complaining, but just for information so everyone knows.

ok i just flexed my V600 with this new custome flex, everything is all fine and dandy, i never did delete any of the stock ringtones i just left them there so i have access the load detail menu. BUT even though i have the phone set to LOUD, when i call it, it doesnt play the MP3 tone that i have??? the screen and keypad lights up and thats cool BTW!

but the phone wont play the MP3?? any suggestions??

also i can play MP3 tones from the multimedia section, and im able to select them as a ringtone, but the phone has no sound when called??

well i just flexed my phone for the first time, and i gotta say, it was a lot easier than I thought. Seem editing may be another issue, however.

I would like to do something to make my phone vibrate and ring at the same time, though. any ideas on that? also, did the outside screen display change? (I broke mine, and I'm waiting for a new one)

Make sure you download the most recent version, the 727kb one, not the original .zip or the re-upped .rar. The first .zip was corrupt, the second .rar didn't have any ringtones.

Second, can you access your loud details? Third, are you putting ringtones in via p2kmanager, or something other then MPT?

ok i flexed my phone and i like it, but i lost my cingular internet settings. I think i was able to re-load some of them, but I went and downloaded "my-cast", a weather radar service, and it doesn't show iup in java apps.

anybody else have trouble with java apps?

did you re-enable the java app via PST

the v3 flex needs it usually, the v600 flexes don't

well i d/l the .RAR that was about 2mb/kb or so the one that you re-did BD5, so im hoping it was the right one. and i used PST (pflex) flex went thru just fine, no problems..my MP3 tones that i had in the phone were still there, as well as the pictures, which i thought they would be gone since its a flex and it usually wipes the phone clean right? only thing that i had to do was put the contacts back in, put the WAP,GPRS,MMS settings in etc..
no i cant access my loud details it just kicks me back to the main screen. my ringtones were still in my phone even after i flexed it, im able to select and even play a MP3 tone just cant get the phone to play it when its called, everything lights up about it showing whos calling just wont play the tone???

Try a reflex using mff, instead.

I only tested this flex out w/mff (to avoid errors and such)

I put these 2 files on my phone from the flex and it blocked out all of my settings in the messages section. mma_ucp" and "mma_dcp, I only have inbox, outbox, and browser settings now. How can I get email and the other sections back?

I have a v3 running 72R and I have always had vibe and ring option. AFter flexin with this flex, will I lose that option?

I am haveing the same problems as
palenestro. I can even set a ringtone after fixing the ringtone problem with Mototool, but it still does not ring. Coudl you tell me what mff is? I could not find it in the sticky on tools, terms and apps.

Nevermind, I found it in the mst 7.1 install directory.

OK, I have tried this with PST and with mff and the same problems persists. After the flash, I cannot access my Load details. I have a V400 Cingular branded with 63R firmware (came this way from Cingular). I used the updates .rar file and even redownload to insure it was the second one you posted. I used Mototool to fix the ringtone problem and I can access the details and change them; however, whenever I selet one of the tones other then silent, only the vibrate ones do anything, no sound from any of the other ringtones. I had a backup of the original files that I created with Motokit 1.6 and was able to go back. I really like the speed of this flex so I hope we can figure the problems out. How exactly do you create a flex pack by the way?

I am running 79R, and by flexing it I LOST my vibe and ring option...

flexing back with the generic v3 flex, I really hope that option comes back... or I will be sooo pissed

this leads me to believe that there is another offset that we have yet to find that enables vibe+ring. perhaps, if its a v551/e398, only that offset needs to be hacked. but if its a vxxx triplets, you might need 2 or 3

Hi all i need help guys,

I flexed with the #PP flex and i lost the Ring detail option. Everytime i go to Loud>Detail it jumps right back. I already tryed to create a feature file with PST and put all values to 0 and i also tryed to erase the .DB files couple of times and nothing helps.

Can someone suggest anything please ?

ok i ran into a little trouble here. I decided to try de V620 flex on my V600 but since it failed i rolled back to this flex. After doing it i realized that i can't assign MP3's as ringtones. I tried everything (fixing ring details and stuff) anyone has any idea on how to fix this?

I just got my Motorola V600 and want to upgrade the Flash/Flex on the phone. (Currently on phone - Flash - Triplets_G_0B.09.3AR_A / Flex - GS9V600TMB02NA157) When I open up MultiFlashFlex and try and Flash, the following error comes up "Error:FLASH aborted! Cannot initialize the Test Command Engine!" Has anyone else ever got this? If so what is the fix?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Also, is using PST/P2KMAN the only way to flash/Flex your phone?

Little bit of advice…. WAIT a while before flexing /flashing.

Got to ask you since I just got (2) V600’s with the SAME flex /Flash id strings…. Have you experienced ANY kind of “problems’ with the phone? White screens /lock-ups, reboots, garbled out display?

(Didn’t notice the “reboots” until I assigned a boot-up unlock code…. Wife said about 3-5 times a day “Enter Unlock Code” appearing after that. I just happened to “see” it crash, outer display going blank then rebooting.
Additionally she had a problem with it doing the SAEM thig upon exiting a call-Phone would crash)

To get back to your question… First thing you need to do is to get Motokit, and make a “backup” of the FLEX on the phone is case youy need to send it “back” for warranty /service work.

2nd thing…. If MultiFlashFlex doesn’t work, you can use the P-Flex option in PST phone Programmer to FLEX the phone…. If you want to FLASH.. you can use Flash and Test Commands in PST.

How do I know this? Well just in the past few days my MultiFlashFlex (the flex part) has stopped working. I believe this being caused by I have (2) different cable types (charging and non-charging)…. I think I got the OS /MultiFlashFlex “confused” switching between the (2) cables….Gives error message (Device 0 is not responding and will not be flexed -everytime I try to FLEX now

PS: On your problem, have you applied the “patches”? There are 6 files that need to be patched. Then upon running MultiFlashFlex or better yet Flash and test commands there should appear about 6-7 “Found New hardware” that pop up the first time you connect the phone:

When you first run P2Kman, a bunch of drivers will install:
Motorola USB Device: Accessories Interface
Motorola USB Device: Communications Class - Communications Interface
Motorola USB Device: Communications Class - Data Interface
Motorola USB Device: Data Logging DSP Interface
Motorola USB Device: Data Logging MCU Interface
Motorola USB Device: Test Command Interface
Sound, video and game Controllers: USB Audio Device

PS: Triplets_G_0B.09.3AR_A has a "date" of 7-12-2004... That is the "newest flash on shipping T-Mobile V600's.

I just installed the Flex, it's been great so far except for one thing:
There are no options for "Ring Lights", and there is no flashing of the keypad or screen (to my understanding this flex enables this). This results in no lights when I receive a call.
Someone please help me out.
P.S. I'm usin .72r firmware

Just download the funlight.pat from one of the other threads, put it in your audio folder (i think) via p2kman and you're set.

As far as this flex goes, I love it. My menus are so much faster than the one I was using. I previously was using the SA....F9 flex

when i downloaded this flex and look at the file its not in .hs also the file says it has 0 bits i think i downloaded the right one the 700+ kb (dont remember the exact size) do i have to rename the file to end in hs or can i flex it the way it is and whats up with the 0 bit thing

It's a .rar, try extracting the .hs from it.

After it was extracted it was 700kb? After extraction it should be over 2 megs.

I'm inclined to say it was either your download, or your program. Sorry, bud, but it has to be one of the two. I just redownloaded it with a cleared cache, and no issues.

Especially when your not even extracting a file with the right name.

I downloaded the .rar file and the file inside it says official #phonephreakz.hs

Is this the file that I need to extract since I tried both links an the files are the same. Was the wrong file uploaded or something? Also when i try to flex via MFF it fails at 77%. How do I pflex using PST? When I open PST I only get a command for flashing and not flexing.

BTW I am using .58R if that helps any. Thanks.

If I delete the startup and shutdown tones that come on the phone will it screw up the phone. i just dont think the shutdown comment is too approriate if you know what i mean.

Really loving the Flex BD. It seems to have fixed my dropped called issues I was having with the phone.

Yeah, the idea behind it was to enable almost all the features that most people would want, but obviously I couldn't seem edit it for everyone.

Crying out loud. The flex is a "bare" flex(how else can you get 6.5Meg free?), so it doesn't have the sound files used by the ringer or other "extra" stuff. If you read a bit of this thread and you would of know how to fix it. It's covered at least hundreds of times. Most P2K program has a single button that will this fix the problem, since it is so common problem.
