wut the **** man the ****ing cases suck. i got a monaco case from wirelessground.com and its too small and i cant even pull it out of the case. there is almost no way to customize it except for bumpers, which i cant even find at stores because everything is backordered. you cant even get your own ringtones without a dev key or paying for them. and mine broke and its taking forever to come because there backordered. if they wanna put snoop on a commercial and make it popular, they need to have enough to ship out. i love the sidekick and all but im pissed right now.

This is not just for SK or hiptop users but a user of ANY PRODUCT IN GENERAL:

Listen Dude, Before you go out and spend 2-3 bills on a device you should do your homework and see if you can live with the possible flaws of the device. I myself would do a good 2 months research before I got a and blow money on something that costs more than $70.

People know (especially her) how much of a pain in the A$$ it is to get a case for the device. It's a known issue sort of speak. You can't put your own ringers on the deviec unless u have a dev kit which voids your warranty, again, something that is well known in this forum. Bumpers? Of course they sell out quickley and are on backorder because there tons of people who are desperate to decorate their units. Bottom line is investigate the flaws of a device BEFORE you Purchase it. Once you recognize the flaws think if you can live with them. If not then don't buy it. A SK/Hiptop is an investment and just like any investment you should research and try before you buy. You have 15 days when u purchase the device & if u realize it sucks or does not suit your needs please return it and don't complain. If you want to complain to anyone then you should do to the man in the mirror for not doing his homework before buying a very expensive communication device.

Doing this will prevent you from doing

in the future.

yeah but i LOVE the skII. there r holster clips for nextels and stuff, even for treos, why cant the sidekick have one? why cant we just put our ringtones? wtf? why they gonna commercial this product so much and not even have enough to ship out, almost 3 weeks waiting for my new skII cuz my old one broke. im just saying the skII could be the PERFECT phone. they should just make it perfect, perfect accesooeies and everything. they could price it higher, and everything is good.

I know what you mean. But unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world where nothing is perfect.

Hell, Why don't you or someone make a company that will make/ design decent accessories? Step up to the plate man! Anyone who starts a company like that would be rich quick

cell skins arent that great, been through 3 of em. its not even thyat man, i just want ringtones like my sister has on her nextel i730, and i want a holster clip like she has for her phone. but i dont want an i730, i want it on my skII. but whatevr sooner or later they will have it.

The cases isn't that big of a deal. Your $300 investment is much safer in one of those leather cases than exposed on a clip. Why do you have to show it off, anyway?

Same for ringtones. I thought those were SUPER important to me too. Then I really thought about it, having only 2 custom ringtones I made on my Nokia now, and realized that the coolness factor to your own ringtones isn't that cool. People don't even recognize the songs I use, so it doesn't even matter.

The real pain with all of this is merely the lack of freedom to be able to manipulate media to your own liking, but Danger's not on the top charts, so they don't have to open their products up to the user.

I didn't even get mine yet, but still. If it's so imperfect, then get a phone that does what you want. I'd trade you mine, which has everything you'd need, but sadly, I'm selling it to my cousin.

Bottom line: not happy? Do something about it. Don't clog the forums. And ask us if you're unsure.

If you want to customize your SK2 you can get a skin for it. I personally sell skinz (vinyl sticker that goes over your oem housing) They come in a variety of colors and also glittery colors. They will not leave a sticky residue once you take them off. It also comes with a clear skin for the LCD so it doesn't get scratched. you can even buy a clear one if you like and if you want to go and bling it out you can put this down on the phone first then bling it out that way you won't void any warranty or have to deal with any mess when you want to take it off.

first of all.....dont blame danger for the phone being locked... havnt you noticed the hiptop can do much more then the sidekick... guess whos at fault.. NOOO NOT DANGER its tmobiles fault.. they locked a few applications and tmobile is the 1 that wont allow you to download from websites... if your looking for skins... go to.. skinit.com or keistylist.com those are the 2 most popular sites for sidekick 2 skins.. if you have a sk1 color go to kei stylist they also have skins for the sk1 color..

blingin a sidekick...is the gayest thing ive seen. Thats why only girls do it. Yeah the ringtone thing does piss me off cuz i want some **** i like or some of my own made music. i dont really care if people know the song i have as a ringtone. i just want some music to play on my phone that i accually like

reason23 blinging a sidekick may be gay to you but to others is nice and no not only girls blings out sidekicks.. if you want to download your own music or ringtones get a developers key and mod your sidekick.. thats the only way your going to be happy.. hell.. thats the only way yall will ever be happy.. nobody is ever happy with what they got. for $300 i think the sk2 is well worth my money.. :evileye:

i paid the full amount.. i could have sent in the rebats but its really not worth my time. developers key is pretty hard to get these days becaus punk kids abuse the developers key just to get free ringtones... i say it is a waste of money for rhinestones but as long as you dont waste your money then its fine right?

**** i actually can develope applications for the sidekick but i cant because i dont know anybody that has a dev key or a known developer.. i just hate the fact that kids ruined the dev. key program just for stupid ringtones.. its really hard for true developers to get the **** key.. maybe ill just go to palo alto to dangers head quarter and show them what i have. so far me and my friend created a ringtone composer for the sidekick but we cant load it into the sidekick untill we get a dev.key.. look like we have to copy it to a cd and take it down to danger..

Actually, if you have a working or even semi-working bundle you're probably a shoe-in for a dev key - actual *developers* who can write code for the device can easily get a key.

It's easy for "true developers" to get a key. It's hard for people who pretend to be "true developers" to get a key. It's as simple as that.

No, you don't. Read the application form. If you're an application developer, you can prove it by uploading a bundle to Danger to demonstrate to them that you can actually develop for the device. Once approved, you can then refer other people (within reason) for keys as application support.

If the only way to get a key was to be referred by a developer, then how would anyone get keys?
