I should be receiving my new 650 in the next day or two. Anyone have a recommendation on the data plan I should buy? I'm going to check my e-mail a few times a day and do a bit of browsing as well. Also, can you only go on WAP websites with the treo or can you browse the web at will? Any feedback is appreciated.

try to get old media works, if not...that sucks

2nd option...24.99 unlimited media net, if u still cant (b/c its a PDA)

39.99? PDA plan....someone correct me if im wrong with this one

Sad thing is that I had the old media works package but disconnected a couple of months ago. I did not know it was being discontinued. Maybe if I play dumb they will give me the same deal. Anyone have any success getting the package after it was discontinued? I should have my Treo by tomorrow morning.

'fraid, they are pretty insistant about the $39.99 data plan. I tried a few different stores and played "dumb" (also tried to look for the sweetest...read pliable) clerk, but no joy.
However, am saving a fortune on the family plan.

When you get your Treo, take another phone into a corp store, im sure you have one, with your sim in it, tell them you want the unlimited 24.99 data plan...may work.

worth a shot before going to the 39.99

I bought my treo from palmone, though I got the cingular branded device. Cingular however, they think I still have my n6230b (which I still do) and I was able to add the media net unlimited ($24.99).

1.) What does the $39.99 PDA unlimited plan include? Any text/multimedia messaging??

2.) It seems to good to be true, but for $24.99, we can get the same internet service as the "PDA Plan"!!??

I had an old "Media Basic Plan" for 7.99. It was a good deal for text/multimedia messaging but only had 500KB for internet. I just got my Treo the other day and added the $24.99 Unlimited Media Net plan online, but it looks like I'm going to have to call and tell them to delete the old $7.99 plan...without mentioning I'm using a Treo.

you wont be able to get media works/basic on a pda.... sorry
MEdia Works is only worth 3MBs any way, you woud eat that up in no time.... unlimited data for a PDA is 39.99. its worth it.

I had Media Basic yesterday and was connecting to the internet perfectly fine. I just ordered the 24.99 "Media Net" unlimited plan, and now I can't connect...it says "connecting, canceling" What gives??

Is ANYONE here connecting to the net on the Cingular 650 via Media Net Unlimited??

I've got the 650 and upgraded to media net unlimited on-line and am accesing everytihng on-line no problem.

Same here, its working now! I called customer service and apparantly they didn't activate the $24.99 Media Net plan correctly earlier today. I am still using my 32K Gemplus sim without any problems.

I just activated my Treo 650 and was able to get the old, expired, unlimted Media Works plan with all the text messages and data I desire.

Now I want to try and get my phone unlocked...

how'd you do that? are you sure you got the unlimited wix + all those text/mms or did you get the 3mb wix + all those text/mms. They are both called Media Works.
