I have a Sprint Treo 650. How does the service provider influence the phone difference? Also what does unlocked mean and can a Sprint 650 be unlocked? Sorry. I am new to this but love my phone.

Sprint's Treo 650 will differ from Cingular's, b/c Sprint is CDMA (which cannot be "unlocked", theres not a purpose for it) and Cingular's is GSM, unlocked meaning any sim will work.
The devices are similar but differ in the software put by the company, thats about it, no major differences
