L1400 Transfering Ringtone Problem

I can use PC Sync and read and upload to my l1400 but when i try to use LG Content Manager to upload mmf's to the phone i click the connect button and it times out im using a usb data cable in com 4 if you guys can help or offer me any different software that works for the LG L1400 like BitPim that would be cool
