Under Settings>Options>Browser

My options read Default browser: BES
MDS Browser: BES
WAP Browser: Cingular

there is no way to change the wap browser to anything else, but when i load a WAP page it loads via MDS. Is this what you all have?

EDITED: BTW anyone know the default voicemail number for Cingular, mine came without one programed.

It also says unknown for phone number in the Phone menu, any ideas.

I'm not an expert on this, but...

the WAP browser is using your cell carriers network only...not going over MDS.

If you want to take advantage of the MDS and full internet browsing, you will want to use the BlackBerry Browser. That will use the MDS service and allow you to browse the internet via PPP over MDS. Go into options/service books and look for Desktop [IPPP] or something similar (must have [IPPP] but the Desktop part can be different). This will let you know if you are able to view the web over the MDS service.

Unfortunately i'm new to the phone enabled BlackBerry HandHelds so I can't help on the other two questions (I'm an ex 957/5790 user)

I believe the voicemail # changes area by area, but you can always program your BB to dial itself, that usually triggers voicemail to pick up.
