#1 How to get Pictures out of the SD card?

Step 1: Put the card in a SD Card reader

Step 2: Open the files

Step 3: Right click the pictures you want, if you have winzip make a zip folder with it

Step 4: Make all the pictures you want, and put it in a Zip folder, using programs like Winzip or WinRAR

Step 5: the the Zip file or RAR file some where, where you can locate it,

Step 6: Remove the SD from PC

Step 7: Open the zip/rar file and unzip them
Done now you have all your images off your phone

#2 MP3 Ringtone
Step 1: Use shorten version or use the whole thing
Step 2: Transfer file to SD card or Email it to yourself with G-Mail
The rest is self explainatory

#3 Wallpaper
Size is 176x220 for the main scrren
for the out side LCD it's 128x96

If you know any serects post them here
Sorry I just go the phone yesterday, and I didn't get VCast, I need some help on free WAP, Right now I'm using a 512mb SD Card, can';t wait for the 1gig SD card

Did you even try to open the pictures. The pic are corrupted when copied from the sd card. If so, did zipping and unzipping fix them.

Also, the main screen size you gave wrong. Did you even try a custom wall paper. Ausiovoa and verizon both claim 176x220, but this is a VCAST phone, plays good video, so it is NOT a standard color phone screen. If you want the real screen size, PM me.

However, the mp3's will work when copied to the card and played.

Hmm all the stuff worked perfectly fine for me, also you don't open the pictures you use zip them without opening it.

Also when I sent my self a 176x220 and It fit, but it wasn't perfect, and if you know the real size just post it why PM you

Also I just got back from CircuitCity and got me a 1gig SD card, but it seems like it only plays about 800mb of the stuff in the SD card.

I paid $109(includes tax) for the card and there is a $15 rebate

Ok here is full detail of what I did to get the pictures out of the card.
Download WinRAR, right like the drive (for me its saids SD) Go to add to archive, then save the file somewhere and then unzip it. It does work!

Thanks for posting that stuff. Any chance you know how to watch MPEG's or AVI's on the phone or if just converting them to .3g2 (using Quicktime Pro) and hten loading on the SD card would work.

Also you can get 1GB miniSD cards for $75 bucks off ebay and I found them through some other online dealer for around $70ish. And theres a company called Microdia Inc. (You can google them to order it I think ) which came out with 2GB miniSD cards about 3 months ago.

The zipping and unzipping does not work for me. I tried compressing the whole drive in both Rar and Zip using winrar, and I tried just picking out the pictures I wanted with both winrar and the built in Windows Zip maker. There must be something I am missing. I can see the files, but for some reason they just are unopenable.

As a long time computer nerd, I don't understand how compressing the pictures, moving them, and then uncompressing them should have any effect on them. It's all the same data when you're done.

P.S. Is there ANY Phone that will let me take the pictures off it and onto the computer?

The real fix: Switch to Sprint, get the Sanyo 5600. I just did this today, and it will not only let you shuttle pictures, but the phone will play 3g2 movies and it does this all through a USB cable. I used a card reader for simplicity, but I imagine it has all the same functionality through the cable.

Pricey, but functional.

hello im new to the forums but i also just aquired an audiovox 8940 and what can i say its great. The speakerphone isnt nearly as bad as everyone says it is. First of all i can't find any 1gb mini sd cards anywhere in stock, any suggestions? also i google Microdia Inc. but on their website you can only get the 2gb mini sd's in 100 packs. Also when i was going through get it now i noticed i could buy vcast games, unfortunaly im just out of the vcast area but i wanted to know if i could still play the games even though i'm not in a vcast area

I don't know if any of you tried this. But you can get all the pictures off the phone in perfect working condition. You simply transfer them back to the phone and use QPST to get them off. There is a translation process between the card and the phone. There is no way I can tell to access the card thru the phone. Only via a reader.
