I thought Sprint didn't allow phones to be used as a modem. That would be considered abuse of Vision. Is that not true?

THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT TELL ME HOW TO DO IT BUT IF I FIGURE IT OUT THAT I CAN USE LIKE 15 MB BEFORE THEY MAY BEGIN TO CHARGE FOR THE SERVICE.I ONLY PLAN TO USE THIS LIKE A VERY VERY FEW TIMES

It is true that it is technically an abuse of Vision, however I knkow people who have done it for years and have never been addressed by Sprint about it. This is not to be construed as an advertisement, but RadioShack has the cable and software to pull this off. It is called SnapDialer. The cable currently runs 22.49 (if they have the cable for your phone) and the software is 41.99. With this you should be fine using the internet on your phone as long as you're not running multiple computers.

P.S. Macintosh computers do not need the additional software as it is usually integrated into the OS. It also makes it really easy to connect. Also, if you have a phone with multiple jacks (like the Sanyo 8200) you can use one jack with your data cable and the other jack for the charger. This allows you to stay connected for hours without draining your phone battery. If the two plugs don't fit at the same time, sometimes you can remove some clips, casing, or shave the rubber down so they both fit. Have fun!

Is that the same as technically shoplifting?

All you need is the USB cable, and the Sanyo series modem driver. After the modem driver is installed, then it will appear as a modem device. Then you can set up a Dial Up profile using the Sanyo modem device, and enter the #777 for the phone number.
