Trouble Sending Txt Msg's (V800)

My v800 is unlocked. It has vodafone branding but i dont care..yet..
anyway my o2 sim didnt used to work. then i tried it one day and now by magic it works perfect..well almost.
When i send txt's it either sends them or takes 1 min trying then states "sending failed" i might have to send the same txt 6 times before it goes! and strangely..when i send msg's it states my balance but it never changes. I could send 10 msgs;s and still have £5 cred. The people get the messages cos i send to my g/f!
any ideas would be welcome!
