My problem is this, my boss has a 56k connection to his house and with his laptop he is starting to hit the limit of what he can send out size wise with presentations and word docs; last one that crapped out was 700kb.
Our work has a deal with nextel for the blackberry 7510. So this becomes an option. I'm not concered with all the features blackberries include, I need to know if he can use it to send an email with an attachment (up to what size?), whether it's a powerpoint presentation or word doc. I would assume this means he will have to connect it to his laptop to get the office documents onto the blackberry. I see that one way is with USB, can it also use bluetooth or a wireless network?
Another thing is that it has to be easy to do. He won't have tech support with him at his home so he will need to be able to figure out problems or at least not get confused when working with it.
Thanks for any help.

This is not as easy as you would like. You can not "natively" transfer documents from the PC to the BB. Check out eOffice from a company called Dynoplex. It may do what you want.
The Bluetooth is for audio only; no data transfer. There is no Wifi on the Nextel BB.
Probably easier to get a faster connection to his house..

You cannot get files onto a bb by usb cable, and the 7510 does not have bluetooth (besides that, bt on bb's is not for data--voice only). The only way-at least that I'm aware of-to do what you want is to have an online document storage solution of some kind. Then you would be able to email those documents using the bb. If you have BWC only (included in Nextel data plan @$45 per month, no voice), the bb can only receive up to 10MB of email before you have to clear out some more room. If you use a BES though (extra monthly fee, not through Nextel), you can get much more storage space for email.

thank you for the help. Yes the faster connection is what we want to go for but getting the company to pay for something it offers (BB) is easyier then for something it doesn't offer. However in light of this new information it looks like a BB is out. Thanks again.
