mpx220 & email from home monitoring camera

I have an mpx220 and a motorola pc home monitoring system. I can get text messages sent to the phone when the system is tripped but I can't get the email w/video attachment to the phone. I am using Cingular. What cell Services do I need to get the video from the system camera to my phone? (wirelessly of course)MMS,WIX,etc. This system is really cool, if your away from home/office. Lets you know who's at your pad.

Thank you.

email from the monitoring system is sent either through mms via cingular or regular email. The video attachment is in .avi format. I receive the text header on both mms and pop3 but the phone won't recognize the .avi format. The main reason I chose this phone was to get immediate notification of intrusion for the monitoring system via text message (the phone works great for this) but preferrably a 10-30 second video sent directly to the phone also.

Any ideas would be apreciated,
Thank you,
Kman

try beta player program on phone

You need to install BetaPlayer on your phone. WM9 does not play .avi or .mpeg but BetaPlayer will. When you get the attachment you should be able to open the .avi file and view it with BetaPlayer.

Does BetaPlayer work with MS Smartphone 2003? I went to the developer site and could not find a download for this.

Thanks

Yes it does. I have it installed on my phone and it runs without a hitch. Go here and download: betaplayer.smartphone.STABLE.0.5.exe

Thanks all for the info!

I found and installed betaplayer.smartphone.0.04.zip. It installed but I got a video codec error so per omega2008's previous post I installed betaplayer.smartphone.STABLE.0.5.exe and can now view .avi attachments. One thing though, after this download and a couple of successful emails w/.avi files I turned the phone off and it would not turn back on. I removed and reinserted the battery and was back in business. All phone settings were back to factory, addon applications intact though.

MP3 ringtones are now gone also along with some registry hacks I got from this forum. Nothing I can't replace though.

Is there an all-in-one post/forum/site that has the numerous issues (bug fixes) to make this phone trully great?

Thanks Again,
Kman

That is weired that the phone just shut off and did a soft reset (put everything back to factory settings without deleting apps). I didn't press any buttons when you turned the phone off or anything?

Tough when you rebooted your phone and lost stuff. You may wish to use a backup program and back your phone up to a miniSD card, that way if something gets lost for some reason you can always do a restore and get things back to where they were when you backed it up. There are several good backup programs out there, I use on from Sprite software but there are others that will work fine.
