Anyone else buy a VX8000 cable from dwoodsz?

I bought this cable for my VX8000 from dwoodsz.com (this is the ebay guy who has the picture of 2 notches).

I tried installing the cable, and Windows XP recognizes a USB controller "LGE CDMA Composite USB device". I also have two unknown devices that show up, with drivers. I see nothing under Ports. What should I see?

BitPim doesn't see the port, and neither does QPST. Anybody else who owns the same cable know what to do? On my VX8000 phone, I tried both RS232 115.2k and USB -- which is correct?

Did you install any drivers?

Well, yeah, that's why "LGE CDMA Composite USB device" shows up. But I don't get anything under Ports and I think I'm supposed to. Which drivers am I supposed to use exactly? I've tried various ones from Futuredial, but Windows doesn't recognize any new devices. For the "LGE CDMA Composite USB device", I can pick from some like LG 5350 but nothing else matches 6100/7000/8000.

Try these: http://ds1.my-mam.com/CDMA/USB/ModemSetup-CDMA_USB.zip

Got it working. It says:

Ports:
--> FutureDial USB Diagnostic Serial Port Drivers (WDM) (COM5)

USB controllers:
--> FutureDial USB Composite Device

I'm not sure which drivers worked -- I basically installed all of them. I think the key was setting the Data to be USB instead of RS232.

Glad you got it working. BTW it was the futuredial ones that you had already installed.
