I got a P910i which have been flash running on CDN 162005/6 firmware

my question is

Can i install this CDN number(162005/6) version to my current 162005/13 version by using Upgrade from SE website?

Can i just flash the firmware by typing that verions num. of firmware by choosing manually update?

Is that any other method to flash different firmware to the phone?

thanks

that can't be done via the se update service because the process is fully automated, interacting with your device during the process will only hang your phone with bad conclusions. the cda number is only a text file in the c/system/data folder in your phone. it is used to detect the current firmare revision on your phone.

by the way, why would you want to do that anyway?

I've read elsewhere a method of formatting the C: "partition", could this be done to stop the SEUS software reading the current CDA# and allow you to dictate the firmware that gets written (either through hacked dll or simply telling SEUS to download that CDA version)?
Also, what other factors are affected by formatting the C: drive?

I suspect that heuer wants to unbrand the handset or perhaps install a different language pack?

Personally I have a P900 with branded firmware from Tmobile UK and want the homepage of the internet browser unlocked.
My CDA# is 162004/11, I would like it to be something like 162003/2 (unbranded with English/French/German/Italian).

On calling SE and Tmobile UK both ppl I spoke with agreed the situation was wrong, but neither would commit any way to solve it (each blamed the other). Perhaps OFCOM will sort this whole branding/locking business out soon?...

the only way to do that is to flash the phone using the fighter software. l have a few friends that had branded phones and used this method to unbrand them but it's a tricky process and should be done only as an ''only need basis'' because lf you choose to do so your warranty gets suspended from sony ericcson for further information regarding fighter software look here: http://www.gsm-solution.com.vn/se_fighter.htm

No thoughts on the editing or removal of the file on the C: drive that ppl have said contains the CDA then?
I just got my handset fixed today, the guy used fighter but had a hell of a time trying to get unbranded firmware to flash with for the P900 (from the ftp of the very site you mention).
In the end he ended up flashing with the P910a firmware (oh ****, that's the last thing I would've wanted )

I was just wondering now, if I flash again through the SE website (following the P910a pages of course, not the P900) would it flash the P900 firmware onto it or the P910i?
From what I saw in the SEUS log file it looks like they check the IMEI against their own database, but they check the CDA as well and my CDA is now diferent.
CDA162004/11 was Tmobile UK, now it is CDA162003/5 (unbranded P910a).
My forecast would be that it would update to the latest unbranded firmware, but for the P900. Anyone know any different?
I don't think I'll bother updating as I want to stay as a P910.
Although my organiser version seems very old?
Here are my software versions before and after:

Phone: CXC162022 R3C006
Bluetooth: CXC12529 R5D
Organiser: CXC162021 R4B01
CDA: CDA162004/11 R5B01

The P910a firmware I now have is:

Phone: CXC162022 R3E001
Bluetooth: CXC12529 R5D
Organiser: CXC162041 R1A17
CDA: CDA162003/5 R4B14

a friend of mine did the same firware update( p900 to p910i) he can update normally from the se update site but his phone had a side effect, bluetooth became very unstable and could not connect to any device his problem has not affected the phone functionallity in any way,and he doesen't really care because he only wanted the mem stick duo pro support. but I preferred to buy a new p910 because I depend on bluetooth connectivity a lot,in any other way his phone works like a charm...

I've started reading the stickied thread by analog initially carry this process out, 33 pages is a lot to get through and the links stopped working half way through?
Anyway, I am aware of the bluetooth issues and will cross that bridge when I come to it, perhaps it will play a role in what equipment I buy or whether I have to convert back to P900 firmware.

You don't really answer my question though, what do you mean when you say he could use SEUS normally - did he flash back to P900 firmware or the latest P910 firmware using SEUS?

From what I can tell it would likely flash P900 firmware back onto it, only question is whether SEUS reads the IMEI to decide which firmware it gives you or whether it reads the internal CDA to choose the firmware file to download. I know that the software reads the IMEI and the CDA of the handset, then chooses the firmware to download and install. My initial CDA for instance was 162004/11 so it was Tmobile branded. Now the CDA is 162003/5, so I guess it would download an unbranded P900 firmware?
But if they use the IME I'll be back to the old Tmobile crippled firmware.

I'm staying away from SEUS, much more likely it will do something bad rather than good.

he uses the update service to download the latest p910i firmware without encountering any problems at all! this sounds unbeleivable but it's true if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't beleive it. he has a p900 upgraded with the p910i firmware with cda 162005/3 and logs in to the p910i update service and upgrades his phone without any problems. it was a risk at first but he took that chance and all went well and continues to go well. but I still can't beleive how that happens.....

So did the SEUS update fix the bluetooth problem?
