Using the data cable, is it possible to put games on a phone (vx4400) through the file system?

It is possible with the 4400 because it has the older version of BREW on it. You need to find the .mif files, which basically contain the 'prescription' information for the game or app. You can find the 'brew unlocker' or search the forums for tutorials on how to modify the 'mif' to make it unlimited usage. Once you have done that, send it to your phone suing bitpim (not sure the path, you'll have to look for a tutorial) and it will show up as 'disabled.' Just click the menu option to 'enable' it, it will download from BREw servers, and the game is yours.

This DOES NOT work on newer phones that have BREW2 because the copy protection logic has been greatly enhanced and is pretty much unbeatable.

Good luck,
Chris

Yep the first brew phones 4400, T720, etc can do it. Finding a game would be the difficult part and I believe its agaist forum rules to discuss ways & places to find and do it so just keep that in mind.
