I bought the phone. I bought the data cable from the website cellphoneshop.net. Then I plugged it up and downloaded the driver from the futuredialer. My PC recognized it and is is updated and everything. It is showing up as COM4 on my PC. I have tried Bitmap and other free software and it does not work. When I try to upload images mp3's on my phone it keeps giving me the error that my phone is not connected and please check the connection. I have tried uninstalling and instaling several drivers and software. I even tried the QSL thing. Everytime it says that check to see if the phone is connected. I put the VX7000 on the prefrences and everything. The BITMAP even recognizes it, but then not connecting. Please help!!!! i am sooo frustrared that i am about to buy the datapilot software. But i dont want to spend $60 for that thing when the answer is right in front of my eyes!! hahaha. PLeasssssse HELP!!!! ANYONE, ANYONE.......

Ok, ihave downloaded another driver and another software for it. I went to www.mobileaction.com. they had a phone manager software and i followed the directions. It is just having a hard time recognizing my phone. I have the VX8000, and under the phone listing i had to put VX7000 becasue there is nothing for the VX8000 yet. SOOOOO, i am having the same problems with Bitpim. It is having a hard time recognizing my phone. what am i doing wrong?? I have the settings set to COM port on my phone and also have the speed set to115200. IS my usb cable bad??? But the driver is installed and it says it works great!!! PLease help mei have so manny mp3's and photos i want to load up on there.

Have you set the phone in the Settings ?

For BitPim your phone should be the VX7000.

Posted by: twodogsfaqn

Yeah i set the settings to exactly what you have. Then it will read the com port and identify that there is a phone aatached to it. Then when i go to file system it does not show anything on there and then after trying to retrieve my phone it gives error and says it does not find a phone. if you can pleasewalk me through it, what driver to install and how to set up the software. i woud really appreciate it. does your vx8000 work with this software??

I had the same error. I just kept uninstalling and re-installing the software for the plug and the drivers. Finally, after many tries, it took. Try different driver downloads.

Hey thanks a bunch, i finally got it to work. I had to contact the vendor of the USB cable and they sent me a link with the driver on there. Bitpim finally read it, but i tried to send my vx8000 photos and stuff, but it does not show up on the phone, am i doing something wrong?? How do i work BitPim??

You can only use the File System view for the VX 8000. Then you have to place the files in the correct part of you file system.

Here is the process I use.

First take a picture on your phone and save it. Rename it to Pic1.

Connect your phone via data cable, and start up BitPim.
Next go to View > File System
Next click on the + symbol next to DLOAD, then the + symbol next to IMG, as show in the picture below :

After that you'll want to locate the PIC1 you just saved on your phone. Right click on that file, and choose OVERWRITE, as shown below. This will bring up your windows explorer and you just go to the picture you want to upload and double click it.

There ya go. Hope this was explained well enough, and helps.

Nice instructions. So does the wife know about the pink G string pic?

Since it's only about 8kB, I'm assuming you have it formatted so that it could be displayed on the phone (i.e. 1.2:1 ratio for internal screen and 1.1:1 ratio for external screen (width:height)). If so, could you make it available for download. Thanks.

2 threads on this same topic... this needs to be a FAQ! Once we find a nice answer! Trying some Google searching, I found this on another site:

http://216.109.117.135/search/cache...&icp=1&.intl=us

And this helped someone else...

Quote:
you can download the driver at:

http://www.planon.com/support.php

look for the yellow box that says: LATEST
DOCUPEN DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS.
Your CD might contain older drivers that may not work with your windows.

But didn't help me...

(Can someone confirm if you need to do anything on the phone, or if you see any status on the phone of any sort of connectivity happening?)
