DB Poweramp or Cool edit. Try doing a little searching or look at the sticky threads in the ringtone section. All the info is posted there.

Sorry, I can't help ya, I use DB Poweramp. But I know there is a sticky thread about how to make them in the ringtone and wallpaper thread.

i use soundforge. with the mp3 plugin, its the only app you need to do ringtones... or any other audio

the format you want is 8000hz, 8-bit, mono. for your i730 ringtones

i cant tell you how to do it in cooledit, but it shouldnt be that hard

I just use dbpoweramp. I know that wav quality isn't as good but when you only play them at 4-5 volume level it sounds good. poweramp is easy to use and quick, good program.

I have found that by using the sound recorder on your computer, you can adjust the volume of the wav you want to use. Just go under effects and click on reduce volume. I'm doing it to all my ringtones so I can actually hear and understand them at full volume. You just have to convert in DBpoweramp, edit in sound recorder, then re-convert the wav in DB poweramp. I just override the previous one each time and have found that to work just great. Just don't mess with the original song that you are starting from, in case of mistakes.
