Hi all!
I am new to the LG world and phone programming. I have a new LG VX6100 phone from Verizon. I purchased a new USB data cable from Ebay + CD. The cable has a label that says “For: LG VX6100/VX7000”. I also got on the CD some USB drivers, tones and image files, plus a whole bunch of other stuff that I still have not reviewed.
I followed the instructions, step by step, and I installed the USB drivers. My Win XP Pro successfully recognized the phone as a “LG CDMA USB Modem”. No errors were reported. Looks good.
I checked the COM setting and the LG device is using COM3. I wrote this done, just like it says in the instructions.
I went to configure the QPST and I imported the correct port and COM number. I checked this 5 times.
In the instructions says that after I do this and I have my LG phone plugged in, I should see my Phone in the “Active Phone” list in the QPST in about 15 seconds. Well….i DO NOT see the phone. It says: COM3 - Enabled – COM3 – No Phone – USB
I tried restarting the computer, restarting the phone…I enabled on the “data settings” and “PC connection” on the phone the “USB” option…..still….it cannot see my phone, even though in the “Device manager” on my Win XP, I see the “LG CDMA USB Modem” device properly functioning.
What is going on? Why I cannot see my LG phone in the QPST? What is missing?
Please help me!

On the "Ports Tab" in QPST Configuration, try setting the Labels of each of the ports to COM4 by double-clicking the name of the label and typing it in under Port Label.
If Port "COM4" still doesn't see it and says "No Phone", hit the Disable button, wait a second and hit Enable.
I have the exact same phone and that's what worked for me.
