How to change where text messages are stored?

I did my searching and came up with only the maximum capacity. Is there an easy method to changing where the texts go on the Sidekick II?

well you can choose the option to 'save to sim'

I guess it saves them to the phone by default, but when I switched my SIM from the Nokia 6800, it kept all the messages in the SIM. What's weird is that I used it for some time, received some texts, and THEN it started yelling at me about it. Weird.
