Bitpim and the VX8000

Got my cable, got my bitpim, everything is grand, but I can't get the MIDI or MP3 ringtones to show up when I transfer them over.
Also, where do I save them music and video so I can play them with the screen shut, just using the integrated controls? I have MP3's on there, they just won't play. They show up in bitpim however.

Also, if I send a picture TO my phone FROM my computer, it doesn't show up in my gallery, even though I save them with my other pictures. Any thoughts?

How are you transfering the files. You have to make sure that you are using the File System view when putting files onto the phone.

One step ahead of you there, chief.

You're using version 0.7.28 (the latest), correct?

Right. I just got the new one today and still nothing.

Well sorry, that was my first and last suggestion I was having trouble with my 7000 and the newest version cleared it up.

Bleah. Guess this is what I get for being an early adopter. Oh well, thanks for the help anyway, bud.

Look in your device manager, and post what modem it says your LG phone is. Post exactly how its listed in your hardware.

All it says is LG CDMA USB MODEM. I don't have the know-how to do a screenshot. Under ports, it says LG CDMA USB MODEM Diagnostic Serial Port Drivers (WDM) (COM5)

Well, thats what it should be saying.
Try these steps and see if it works.

Take a picture, and name it Pic1, and save it.

Fire up BitPim, make sure your phone is connected via the data cable. Make sure that under "Settings" that you have selected the VX7000 as your phone.

Click on VIEW > File System
Next click on the File System tab

Click on the plus sign next to "dload" , it looks like this : +dload

next click on the plus sign next to "img", it looks like this : +img

Now you should be able to see your saved picture named Pic1. Right click on Pic1 and choose "Overwrite". The windows explorer will open, navigate to a picture that you want to upload, and double click it. The status on the lower left hand corner should say "BUSY". Once the progress bar is done, the status should say "READY". Your picture is now ready to view.
