yes

make sure you make a backup of your contacts and sounds and pics as a master clear will erase them! let me know how it goes! I need some feedback so i can work on a new version!

Just save the current Websessions file off your phone now and then overwrite the new one after flexing....that will maintain most if not all those settings...

I tried it. there are a couple things that aren't right... the phone book is no longer list as available to be assigned to a shortcut key. several menus are missing fron the front screens interface now, only phone book and ring styles show now. meaning you can't read text from the front anymore because the menu is not there. Other than that everything is fine, the free space is nice and the lack of t-mobile icans everywhere is nice. Needs a little work, then it will be awesome.

well i fixed the menus. Added recent calls and phonebook back into the list for home keys. i dont quite know how to fix the front screen, but ehh... I can't complain, it was a great start. Thanks manalive!

basically you cant put your phonebook as one of the home keys because it was not on the list. Same with recent calls. the only other thing i can't fix is putting text messages back on the front screen menu. the only way to get to your phone book would have been holding down one of the letters on the keyboard...

Am I the only one with the caller ID bug? I know that after seem editing my phone before, I had somehow affected thecaller ID...but I had gotten the seem to fix it before I had flexed with your custom flex.

Maybe if I reload the seem that initially fixed it my caller ID will come back?

Guess I'll give it a shot.

it is the resolution of the video. thats why you get audio and no video. i realized this when applying a picture to my background it was all distorted cause the resolution is 220x176 not 176x220 like all the Vxxx phones.

next... what are the seem edits or menu files for the front screen. I need to add text to my front menu again! Thanks again all. This file was a great start, manalive.

Great going guys!!!
Is it possible to change the "T-Mobile" caption on the front screen and the inside screen, is it customizable with the unbranded flex?? I know i can change it while the flip is open but i would like to do it when the flip is closed too.

Is it possible to have my bluetooth headset actually ring the assigned ringer instead of some preset ringer...can we do this with the unbranded flex??

If i change the contacts to display only the primary and i am browsing the phone book from the front screen i go back to the main menu as soon as i hit an entry that has a picture or a ringer assigned to it. Can this be fixed with the unbranded flex??

flexed the 105
and i found some bugs

even if i set the phonebook to display just the primary contacts the external display shows all numbers per contact while internal displays just the primary

also im getting the caller id bug
it shows the number and not the name when someone calls
but it shows the name when i dial.

Earlier today, I tried to "insert" a ringtone in a text message. I am no longer capable due to this flex. Nothing can be inserted.

After flexing I am incapable of inserting anything in text messages, meaning...I can no longer send any MMS. Because when I try to access my audio, pictures, etc...it displays nothing.

Also, video is now an option, but of course...I cannot insert video in any messages either. Because video is not enabled in this flex.

Sorry ahead of time if i shouldn't post this here, but figured one of you could help me out? I don't want to change everything on my a630, i just want to add 850. what seem do i need to edit, and how to i change it to give me the 850?

I have searched, but keep finding everything other then just adding 850 to my phone.

I am assuming you are talking about quadbanding it and not adding hs850 bluetooth headset...
Here's the seem file to edit
SEEM 0025_0001

**all offsets are HEX**

offset 00 - bit 0, bit 3: 900/1800 and 1900 (set each of these bits to 1)
bit 0, bit 1, bit 3: 850/1900 and 900/1800 (set each of these bits to 1)
bit 0, bit 2, bit 3: 850/1900 and 900 (set each of these bits to 1)

You can get more info from http://xlr8.us/hofo/map.txt, most of it works on A630.
As far as quadbanding it unless you don't change the ucp/mma files you won't see the new band listed in techonology...you can verify it by going to network->new network setup->band, before editing you'll have only automatic but after quadbanding it you should see the 850Mhz as another option.

this is an unbranded flex, as it states, it nearly wipes the phone clean completely, thus the amazing free space

there are no audio files, picture files, video files, or any of that.

You know, when I flexed...it wiped everything that was pre-installed. All the pictures and ringtones I had put on previous to flexing were still there after flexing.

ok now i really really need help, i guess i should have just left it alone. I went and found two files mma_dcp and mma_ucp i changed the bits to 1 using motokit, now everything works on my phone, but no signal at all, won't let me call or search for a network, i tried a restore, still nothing. now what do i do, i need to just try and get it back to the way it was, please if anyone can help!!!!

Ok i remember trying to change the menu files i think you have to use some tool to do this i don't have it on top my head right now will let you know when i get home. I Also remember seeing one of the seem files where i could edit this to say whatever i wanted...i'll have to check it out tonight and let you know...

I'm waiting to receive the USB adapter I ordered so that I can apply your flex to my a630.

You mentioned a possible B020 update. Do you have any timetable for this yet?

Do you think the current B015 is OK to use now, or should I wait for B020? The postings above are confusing regarding what works and what doesn't. The most important thing for me is that I can access the websessions menu and insert new server addresses so that I have full internet access. Is this feature working right with B015?

Is there anything special I have to do to make websessions work after flexing? You mention copying the original websessions file then copying it back after flexing. You also mention deleting the .db files.

Thanks for the great work! I can't wait to try this out. It will be my first phone-flexing.

the B015 Flex works fine as far as i know, what people are seeming to forget is that the websessions file is NOT included in the flex, i removed it. if you want to add new websessions and NOT lose the ones you have then you have to mod your websessions file itself. the flex does, however, give you the proper menus to do this, if you need a tmobile websessions file with unlocked config i CAN work on that, however i will not be releasing any more flexes because the team at motomodders and i are on the very edge of introducing something very interesting to the moto community that may change the need/demand for flexes completely

The idea of something that would eliminate the need to write flexes sounds fantastic. Let us know what the team comes up with.

Manalive, i'm trying to download MMA630ZB015_U_SW81.37R from motomodders, but i keep being told it can't locate the file???

Edit: I'm on motomodders.net right now and the number of peple downloading that file is increasing, but yet everytime i try, i get an error saying unable to locate that file.. What gives?

check you firewall and security settings, these have been known to cause problems with our downloader, we are working on this issue, but have not found a solution as of yet. for now you may simply have to add motomodders.net as a trusted site as that is the only work around we have come up with that provides results

sorry about the hassle.

EDIT: oh yeah, i'll have to get back to you on the websessions file, if i'm lucky i'll have some time tonight to work on that, if not, maybe monday, we'll see though.

Well i'm about to scream here, i can't get it to work, is there anyway you can e-mail the download to me? I just turned off my firewall and still it says unable to locate file for download.

I just used the B015 and it seemed to flex perfectly (although I haven't tested every function yet). Thanks, Manalive.

If any of you have installed the new flex, have you set up a new web session yet with t-mobile? I have the 19.95 internet plan. The original T-mobile web session file is still there and works fine, but it's preset for WAP only. I know how to start a new web session, and I'm trying to use full GPRS on T-Mobile and can't figure out which settings to use. The A630 settings are not available on the Configurator site for the 19.95 plan.

The web session file asks for the HTTP Gateway IP address, username, password, APN, etc.

Any ideas? Thanks, guys.

Something must just hate me, i did everything you said, got all the files, dowloaded them, installed them, printed out the guide. But when trying to use flash flex it says after trying to load

Error cannot load the flash tool! friendly name: flash prog

Then after that it opens and i put it the location of the flash, hit start and i get

The application is not initialized (flash tool/super file)

I know i'm doing everything the way it says in the guide, so not sure whats wrong now...

NHCharmedOne: you are trying to install a FLEX, not a FLASH or FLASH/FLEX, just a FLEX

use the Flex option for MFF or the pFlex option for PST

Thanks a lot for creating the unlocked web sessions file. I'll try it out as soon as possible.

In the meantime my A630 will not recharge with the standard Motorola travel charger. I'm assuming it's just a hardware problem with the charger. Is it possible that any of the battery setting changes in the flex could affect recharging?

Quick question: basically u didn't do any programming, you just edited settings and created flex, right ? The thing that I don't need most of the stuff you added. So I will manually edit y phone using your mini guide included with flex file. Anyway, many thanks for your work

thats the wrong seem to be editing. 0032-0000
You should not mess with the phone if you are not sure what your doing.
I have seen a lot of people toast phones that way.
Use and do at own risk.
This editing of seems takes some expirience.

Looks like i've maxed out on my voice dialing memory...any knows how much it is and how to maximize it?? I only have about 20 voice dials stored and i am surprised its full....if i delete few games will i be able to increase this memory??

Well does anyone have the original flex or software for the A630, the phone does the following:

Powercycles every 10 minutes or so
Cannot Acces Phone Book
Cannot access my Text messaging Menu (only Voice Mail option)
Cannot Acces Photos, Sounds, Motomixer, and something else, it's missing
Cannot acces Phone Book, and there is alot more wrong.

If anyone has any Fixes or support that can help me, i would really appreciate it! Tnx!

First of all I am on Cingular,
I flexed my A630 today and uploaded the unlocked web sessions from motomodders.net but I can't acces the medianet web page it says......413: Requested Entity Too Large.

wap.howardforums works but yahoo mobile does not same error.

Is there someway to make the browser cache size larger?? Did this flex(015) make the cache size smaller??

I don't have that option under web sessions/browser setup or in the menu with the browser open. Under browser setup I can only reset cache and clear cookies, oh yeah and one that says cache Start-Up

I tried changing the cache settings before I even posted, and nothing helped. I was hoping I could somehow get the cache size to show through some seem edit. I've noticed that there are some A630 owners that are having this problem, but not all so thats weird.

I finally figured it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more 413: Requested Enity Too Large.

Here are my settings:
Name: Cingular Express
Homepage: http://device.home
Service Type 1: HTTP <----------These 3
Gateway IP 1: 066.209.011.032 <----------fixed the problem
Port 1: 8080 <----------for me.
Domain 1:
Service type 2 stuff doesn't matter
Port 2: 8080
Everything else blank up
GPRS APN: wap.cingular
User Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

I already had been trying this IP address because phones with WAP 2.0 are supposed to use this Ip and Port but no luck....once I changed the Service Type to HTTP it worked like a Charm.

Dont know if anyone noticed this, but on howardchui.com he reviewed the A630, and his Flex is GCDA630000AA095.

His menus are slightly different, and it seems its a completely unbranded phone.

Maybe there is a Motorola (Unbranded) flex?

odd, just looked and the phone is branded Tmobile?

I can't get my bluetooth detected after applying the flex update. It did work with the original Tmobile flex. Anyone have a solution?

Also, it appears the message icon won't go away after receiving a message. Is that a bug in the flex or a setting I'm missing?

Speakerphone doesn't seem to work either, flipping the screen up or thumbing to it from the menu.

And I can use some help setting up the web sessions. When I select it after uploading the unlocked Tmobile file, the Web sessions window is blank, nothing to select.

Anyone have a .hs file of the original Tmobile flex?

I just got my A630 and have been reading over all this. I have MPT with the cable coming in a few days and want to do some of the edits I have found on the board, but have a few questions... please dont flame as I have ready almost 100 pages just want to confirm everything here before I begin...

if it matters I have service through TMobile

1 - The quadband edit - is there really a purpose to this? Can we even use 850 in some areas?

2 - The video edit. I definately want to do this, but does it also enable the multimedia email options so if we do indeed have a video we can send it to others?

3 - Can someone point me to a more detailed explanatioon of how to remove some of the default ringers and images? I read that if you simply delete them without further modification then it causes problems on the phone.

4 - websessions - it seems everyone wants to unlock their web sessions. I am guessing this allows you to simply open the browser and go to a site. My question is I see how everyone needs to manually enter in settings. How would I know these setting with my TMobile service to enter them in after I edit?

5 - Sounds like nobody has found a way to change the service text (ie tmobile, cingular) on the outer screen when the flip is closed - correct?

6 - Say I start editing and something comes up where I screwed the phone up (hey, I am brand new to this). Can I just use the TMobile flex off of motomodders and my phone is back exactly the way I got it? I mean, I wont have to add in any settings or anything like that?

7 - Are there any other features I am missing that you guys have found to be good? I do not want to do the flex update as of yet as there seems to be a lot of bugs. I would rather just pick and choose the options I find useful, but please mention anything of interest I might have missed from reading all these posts.

Sorry, if this list is long. I am very computer literate, but this phone modding is all new to me and just wanted to clear things up before I start this tomorrow hopefully if the cable comes.

My first bit of advice would be to NOT install this custom Flex and just edit it manually yourself. It screwed my phone bigtime and luckily someone here provided me a backup and I was able to restore.

No, it doesn't work. The way I restored was using a .hs file and using MultiFlashFlex. P2K wouldn't work for me. I can send to you if you want, it's around 5mb.

yeh, if you could that would be great. I take it that the file will work with any a630 using the tmobile service right? I am still new to phone modding, but I'm sure I'll pick it up pretty quick...
