SK65 Question

My boss just got a European Siemens SK65 phone. He put his SIM card from his other Cingular phone and it works fine. Now he wants to be able to browse the web, but he can't do so. What does he have to do?

Go to the Siemens website and do the Settings Configurator (OTA). He will get a special text message from Siemens that will automatically configure the phone for Cingular.

Thanks for your quick response. I did everything the OTA Configurator told me to do, but once I try to access a page, it says "internet service is not enable". The same SIM does have internet access on other phones, but not this one. Any ideas?

Do you ever receive the OTA update? The settings themselves don't come from the SIM, but have to be programmed into the phone itself.

Awhile ago Siemens was having problems delivering the OTA configs, you may have to hunt around in the Cingular forum for WAP settings or something like that. Siemens phones are fairly easy to configure once you know the settings.

I had issues with the OTA settings for this phone in the US, T-Mobile worked but I had to manually enter in the Cingular settings. Since it's an phone fron Europe Siemens NA couldn't help me.

I had exactly the same issues as you and it has taken me a while to resolve it. I'll go through the steps - although I'm not sure what actually fixed it!

1. Go to the Benq site - this has a wealth of information
http://www.benqmobile.com/cds/front... 130784,00.html
2. Choose the Mobile Settings option
3. Confirm WAP Push settings
4. Enter the 'Configurator' for the Browser and perform the steps
5. Enter the 'Configurator' for the Java/Internet and perform the steps
6. At the end of the Java/Internet settings, it says to go back to the original Profile - don't do this! It should work - mine does.
