Hey friends!
After many months of great service from my 6620... I have decided to make the jump to the p910i. I have read and heard great reviews on this phone.
Do some of you more experienced users have any good first hand advice for a noob? I have read the FAQ.... but would also like some personal input!
I have heard that the sync program for the p910i is not all that stellar. I am used to using Nokia PC Suite to sync my 6620 which has worked quite well. Has anyone had problems with SE's version?
I live in a fringe area. Do you think the devices RF will suffice?
I receive my phone tomorrow and look forward to setting it up... and participating in the UIQ forum!
Thanks in advance,
HL

Congrats.
I think this is the best phone/pda I've ever owned (over 12 years of cell phone and PDA usage).
The sync program is great. I have never had an issue with it. In fact it's more stable than my PDA's program Microsoft ActiveSync on my XP .
I can't help you much with reception since I live in an urban area. However, the clarity is amazing (on Rogers).
Cheers!

Thanks very much Calculon! Could you tell me how the SMS interface is? How many SMS's can it hold....? If you type a message and are out of a service area does the phone automatically send once you come back into a service area?
Thanks! I can't wait to set the thing up!

Congratulations on your new purchase.
Well I think it's a great phone and I get excellent reception in a not to great area so I would think you'd be fine.
If you send a text message and it doesn't go through you'd have to go to your outbox and send it when you do have reception.
As for advice... For me, I see my P910a almost like a computer. So basically be prepared to install software to get the best usability out of the phone.
Good luck.

I just got my phone today! Aside from having a small problem with the phone being stuck in chinese at first.... it works great!
Dotokpa, for me... if the messages does not send... it automatically sends later
You are right on the reception... it is great for me! On par with, if not better, than my 6620!!!

About sending SMS I beg to differ. I was on the subway when I typed a SMS message. Naturally, connectivity was down. However when I get off I noticed that the SMS I recently typed was sent off without any intervention on my part.
Hmmmm.... I'll try it tonight.
Cheers!

i have to agree on the rf performance of the p910. people in the moto forum always say that the razr v3 has the best rf ever...but from my experience i've noticed that the p910 far succeeds the v3 i had.

Is there any way to set a BT device as "trusted" so you dont have to confirm on the P910 when another device wants to connect to it?????????

if what you want is to auto-connect devices that you have already paired, all you need to do is set to auto-connect or connect without acknowledging... but if you want your phone to be discoverable, then set it as it is, and see how many can bluejack you...
