Does anybody know how to go about entering new words into the t9 dictionary of an n840 (or any other nec phone)? not sure if i'm just missing something obvious or not, but it seems like they went out of their way to make it difficult...

yeah funny cant find the user dict off the instrutions

what i slowly discover is that the phone saves up the strings that you stype using ABC mode, e.g. one time i was typing "tmr" using ABC mode, then i tried typing 8-9-7 in T9 mode and viola "tmr" is saved onto the list.

but sometimes it doesnt work
still i managed to add a few slang onto the selection..

lol that's what i've sorta been noticing, but it's hit or miss... it spells out "jerksmile" and the occasional swear word by now, but only when it feels like it. fantastic phone though!!

quick update for no reason: if i tap out the word 5-10 times in the ABC mode, and then switch to t9, it's in the list of options! huzzah!

dudes, that's awesome, i gotta try it.

I wish there was a way to remove some words from the dictionary... or remove those non english characters from the ABC.

hehe no doubt, now i have the word "fubk" in my list... apparently i wasnt paying enough attention...
