Motorola V600 VS Sharp TM150

I have never owned a cell phone in my 47 years of life, but I will be getting my real estate license next month and will need a cell phone.

My brother turned me on to this site, and I'm thankfull he did. After HOURS or reading, I learned alot. Had it not been for all my reading, I was going to go with the Motorola V551!

Anyway, I'm down to two choices and I need to know the true pro and cons of each.

I know I'm going with T-Mobile, but I can not decide on the Sharp TM-150 or the Motorola V600.

For now, I do not care about games or MP3 Player ( I have one). I just want a good phone, with good reception with the least hassle.

One last question - What is a "locked" or "unlocked" phone?

Any advice would be nice!

A locked phone is a phone that can only use the SIM card from a specific carrier, and unlocked phone can take any sim.

There are 3 major advantages to owning the TM150, expandable memory, great screen and great camera. If you are getting into real estate, the camera could come in handy for you.

The main advantages the V600 has over the TM150 are battery life, speakerphone and bluetooth. You also get the advantage to customize your phone using seems edits and what not. As far as rf, neither is the best but neither of them is bad. I never used the TM150 for an extended period but if its like the GX32, then its ok. I had a V600 for awhile and I didn't have any rf problems (although I live and work in places that always have good signal).

I'm not sure if size/build is a concern for you but the v600 is smaller than the TM150 and has metal faceplates. I personally think its a more professional looking phone than the TM150 as well. Are there any other requirements that you need in the phone?

honest to god i would get a manufacturers unlocked nokia 6230 - quite possibly one of the best phones ever made - more capabilities than both the phones you're looking at for around the same price!!!

The more I research the more I like the Nokia 6230. In fact, if Motorola does not release there V 635 next week, I will go with the 6230.

I also understand that it is very easy to unlock any Nokia handset yourself. Do you know if this is true and do you know any sites that will tell me how to do this?

Since you plan on going with Tmobile, then don't expect them to release the V635 anytime soon, if at all. You'll have to get an unlocked one off ebay (a or b model).

Free unlocking discussion (unlocking that doesn't involve the carrier giving you the code) is not allowed on the forum, meaning no one can tell you how to do it or post a website.

nokia's are real easy to unlock - all you do is enter in a code. but if i were you i'd try to get a manufacture unlocked 6230 b/c the american version (cingular) doesn't have as many features . . . . i bought mine off ebay when it first got released to the world for just a little under $500!!!! ridiculous - now you can get them for under $300!!!!

Thats how you unlock any phone, enter the lock code that the provider has put on the phone. Each code is based off the IMEI of the phone
