T610 Simlock Problem?

I recently bought a T610 off Ebay and am on the whole happy with it for what I paid. I have one small problem though, the guy I bought it off had left all of his contacts on the phone so I tried to reset the phone to remove them, but it was asking me for a unlock code. I did not know this so just had to delete them all one by one then copy my contacts from my sim to the phone.

Next I wanted to put a lock on the phone just incase some dirt bag nicked it, again it was asking me for the sim lock code which I do not know! I have contacted the seller and he does not know it either, but is trying to find out!

I always thought sim locks were specific to the particular sim card not the phone, as I put in my own sim card which I have never had a sim lock on. Anyone any idea or am I screwed:-(

dude try eight zeros or 12345678 or 11111111. if they dont work then ask the sell for the last digits of his phone number.[4 digits]
like 5125602648[2648] if those dont work then send it back to him and get your money back you bought a phone for no reason, you shouldnt have to do that. or take it to sum phone tech store mabe they will know how to reset the whole phone. let me know if i help. ive been through that problem too thanks Roy

All Sony Phones To Unlock Are " 0000" These Are Zero's Ok ..

If it's a phone code you want removing or restting, that can be done.

The default Sony Ericsson security code is 0000. If that does not work, as the seller if he/she changed it. If they don't know it, you will need to have it reset.
