As many of us are aware that this well known SEEM 004a_0001 > offset 22 [Set 01] for activating Custom Startup Sound has not worked properly up till now on all firmware/flex versions.

I have figured out that there is one more SEEM edit to make this mod complete.

NEW SEEM 0032_0001 > offset 24 > bit 3 [Check]

As usual, what is your pont?

Why don't you try to post something that could benefit the community once in a while!

You might wanna read my post more carefully.

This new SEEM is for people that have not been successful with an existing seem. Many people have problems with the SEEM method one. So when you apply the second SEEM that I discovered together, it is sure thing to work.

Hmm, I have both set and it still doesnt work. I have 2 mp3s in my audio directory called Start~up.mp3 and Power~down.mp3. Something else I need to do?

This is important!

Create Custom startup/shutdown (Cust_Start~up.mp3 & Power~down.mp3) sound and store them in /a/mobile/audio/ folder.

Once again. Custom Startup Sound should be named

Cust_Start~up

Good luck!

Cust_Start~Up.mp3

HighVoltage - how are you transferring the mp3s to your phone? I did it with MobilePhoneTools and it worked perfectly.

Also, on my v220, both of those seems were already edited like Motox has laid out. So I was able to mod something on here with out having to change a seem! Woohoo! bonus!

That is indeed bonus for you!

You're right. Most likely problem with a file or transferring method providing that the SEEM edit has been implemented correctly.

As for your phone, that's also the case with some Razr V3 phones as well.
These SEEMs on some phones (flexes) have been already activated. For instance, with Razr V3, the same case. That's why some people never had problem activating Custom Startup Sound with "SEEM 004a_0001 > offset 22 [Set 01]" alone. However, since I've seen many others who just couldn't do it no matter what, that got me thinking that there has to be another SEEM that controls this behavior.

Eventually I found it. So it turned out to be both SEEMS;
SEEM 004a_0001 > offset 22 [Set 01]
SEEM 0032_0001 > offset 24 > bit 3 [Check]
have to be activated in order for it to work.

Once again, of course, providing that you have a correct file and name stored in a proper folder.

I have tried tarnsferring with P2Kman and via Bluetooth. The sounds show up in the audio directory and play fine when selected. Ive tried variations on syntax and spelling with no luck and also redownloaded the seems to make sure the bits got set...Still no luck.
