Well, I have a Mac theme on mine currently. I think its a little different than using a Windows or Pepsi theme because its not used by that many people and the ones who do are proud of it because they broke away from the norm and they are happier for it. For me, its kinda a way of paying homage to Apple for rescuing me from the buggy, evil & backwards a$$ world of Microsoft. I imagine the Linux theme would be the same for people that took the time to learn that excellent OS, which Mac OS is based on I might add.

I do see your point on why anyone would wnt to use Pepsi or something like that. I mean, I drink Pepsi and love it, but so does a billion other people and its just a drink. The Mac thing is a bit different.

so u wanna "pay homage" to mac, by sticking a free theme on your phone that only you can see... when apple doesnt really care whatever theme u have on your phone as long as u buy their products... right... whatever floats your boat

i just think its a boring idea and i stand by it...

u see ur desktop everyday, i wouldnt wanna see it on my phone...

Well, by your reasoning, then it shouldnt matter what theme anyone has on their phone 'cause no one sees it. Then, what does it matter what theme you put on your phone and what is the point of themes if thats the case? Is that right?? What theme are you using??? You could say the same thing for any theme.

And I think Apple's Steve Jobs would care allot more than Window's Bill "The Devil" Gates would. They could give a rats a$$ about Windows users. Trust me, dude. I was a Windows user for a VERY long time. Im not trying to start a war here, but I dare you to find a Mac switcher that didnt like it and went back to Windows. Not gonna happen.

Nice, I can see you walk the good old Linux road, just like me. I myself use the second theme you posted, I think its very nice, and only few people know what that is, and the rest just say, "Why would you want a Penguin on your phone ? (GUYS) or "Oh my god, that is the cutest little penguin I have ever seen" (GALS).

My pc isn't working so its tough for me to upload the screenshots of my blasters A.J and Mangothemes which are personally edited. I was thinking what will smoki and g76 react to them, i think there will be a ROFLMAO with the "L" OUT.. Now howz that bro.

The "Fire Glass Theme," is by far the best theme I have used. It is a marble to behold. The ONLY beef I got with it is the white rectangle that overdraws the gears that appear in the "loading" window. If you have the theme you will know what I am talking about. I also use another one called "Gamer" is green, and has a tech feel to it and it looks amazing! When the loading screen appears you see a binary row appear as if it were computing. Here's some wierd irony for ya.

I used a Mac theme for probably the longest duration on my 6260. . . and I didn't even know it was a Mac theme!

I used the one with the one with the blue starry orb in the center of the screen. I'd upload it, but I don't have a Symbian at the moment nor the tools at my disposal to use Fexplorer's snapshot.

I really liked it just for how it looked and how it made the menus look, but I was almost turned off when I noticed the same icon on my girlfriend's computer, if not only for the fact that I'd hate to use any company as a label on my phone.

I found that the simple themes with basic pictures were the best if not only because they sped the phone up.

And that is the one question you have to ask yourself when you use a theme. What do I want my screen to look like?

well, its for me to see, i posted my theme above already, i take an existing theme, with a nice looking os, and slap on a wallpaper of my choice...

i guess im just not a hardcore os lover like u guys... i use both pc and mac, i dont see a real difference in it, and i dont really care honestly, i mainly use my pc for gaming anyways but thats a topic for another day, all im saying is that why make ur phone look like ur desktop if u can make it different... im not taking a shot at mac owners, heck i even said why ppl have windows themes on their phones... this has nothing to do with windows or mac, just that i think windows and mac themes are boring... that is all

I know exactly what you mean with the loading screen.

I'll have to check out that gamer one you are talking about, I could probably redo it in blue with photoshop.

Depending on how big the images are for the background and what not, they can slow it down dynamically. Try using a very active and noisy theme and then go back to one of the plain stock themes, you'll notice a dramatic difference.

I understand. Didnt mean to turn it into a Mac/Windows thing. I guess like allot of people here, I am sorta a computer and tech geek and I just feel very strongly about the products I use. Guess I just wish more people knew more about it and that there are alternatives out there for the frustrated Windows users...Peace

i certainly agree with that, xp icons look terrible on the phone. just no innovation at all. but if you come and think about it, linux or mac icons would be much nicer than those xp ones.

I must be the only person who hates how Series 60 themes look. I've searched the entire net, free and pay both for the perfect theme. I like Symbian but **** it's ugly and the themes make it look even ugiler.

The blue hole looks AWESOME with the color layout of the 6670, having blue keys and silver reflective buttons. The white one runs SUPER fast and looks great with the white faceplate.

Lol, Jonny this in no way reflects T-Mobile's signal. Remember there is no T-Mobile in the Carolina's so I am roaming on Cingular. Unfortunately, my roof is metal so I don't get full reception in the house.

I'll post a better image once I finish tweaking the op logos.

Here are 2 themes I made for myself using Microforum Theme Editor. Great little program works much better then Nokias software in my opinion not slow at all and very stable

Porsche GCT Theme

Crystallized Theme

I like them because they are nice colors, easy to read text, match with my keys, and look sexy with the custom operator logos.

Does anyone have or know of a theme for TOOL the band?

I'm thinking to make one myself, but have never made themes before, and doubt I'd do a good job.

If anyone is interested I have a few ideas, im still thinking of the rest of the theme. The interbeing image from alex grey is great, and could be the background:

for the clock, we could put the eye image tool uses.

If anyone knows of a tool theme already out there, please let me know, thanks.

fidorulz, love that Grendizer theme, used to love that show on early weekday mornings @ 7:30am on Buffalo 29 station. Now that is classic anime! Hey that means you got to be close to 30yrs old or just over, right? hehe. I was gonna post if an Astro boy theme was.....where did you get it? Gotta have Grendizer & Astroboy, may you please email theme to me?

Im 25 so you may wonder why im still familar with these series. Since im in quebec they had the french dubbed version when I was younger which was a few years after the english version came out.

As for all of these themes I made them myself using a program called Microforum Theme Editor which is very easy to use just hard to get in english ive been using the italian version and doing trial and error since I dont read it lol. Much better then Nokias app which is very slow

So imagine how easy it is to use if I cant even read what to do lol. Main problem I have is text color for main menu and selection screens cant be changed always in white. Like I mentioned befor its not an issue for me with smart launcher but it is for others.

PM me your email and ill send you the Grendizer & Astroboy. As for grend in 3gp dont have it but download some and use smartmovie to convert them. Great app.

Interesting version of FireFox. I like the Glass FireFox version better. Although I do hate how you cannot make a custom op logo because it has MBM extraction protection. Try extracting it and it locks up MBM Wizard. If I could make an op logo, it would be one of the best themes.

I still find the Glass FireFox version better too, the icons are simply great. The only problem with a lot of themes is that they are too, mmm, overcrowded woudl be the word. There is just too much going on. They are nice eye candy for about a day and after that they are no longer practical.

Yeah i hate themes where everything is obstructed by extraneous images/bad colors, etc. I like simple, good looking themes with nice icons! That x700 firefox theme is a cross between Crystallized/Firefox. Excellent idea...maybe it has no MBM protection on it and I could make my own op logo...

well the simplest answer is on a 3230

oh well keeping aside the jokes .. i dont think they are available for download .. but if there is some way to extract it (hides behind the noob mask) from the phone and put it up for download .. i can do it for you.

I really like the 3230 and 6680 themes. The default ones on the 7610 suck.

Hope they can be converted to be compatible.

Otherwise ... I might get the Nokia N90 when it comes out ...
I like that idea of showing icons/calendar notes while on Standby Mode ...

I decided to create my first S60 theme today. I'm using Theme Studio v3 and I have a 6630. I had to make sure that the theme was set to S60 V2.6 for the theme to install.

I didn't spend a lot of time so left the icons and colors at the default settings. I tried to change some things but I couldn't figure out how to add different icons. Is it possible to open another sis theme file and just change the backgrounds or copy other icons from there? Is there a Theme building for dummies guide somewhere out there?
