hi,there............My NOKIA 6230 is having a problem.......
i can`t save the operator logo that i download.......
last time i use blank op logo....but last night my phone automatic restarted n i c there is a box with a question mark there....
i try 2 download it again but still can`t (SAVING FAILED)

could anyone please help???

Well-well! Get this message out! I've been able to get ANY - and I DO MEAN ANY pic going as an op or startup logo - here ya go:

1) Install PC Suite for the Nokia 6230
2) Install Oxygen's Phone Manager software.
3) Make sure BOTH programs can see your 6230
4) Upload whatever pic you want as your op/startup logo to the phones memory, you might want to name it appropriately as it will be stored along with all other pics u store in the phones Gallery. Close PC Suite.
5) Start Oxygen's program, go into the Gallery of the phone, make the software read the contents of the phone so you can see the file from Oxygen's software, right click on the file, goto the option of "Set as Op logo" or "Set as Startup logo" .. choose your weapon.

Oh!....looks like Nokia has acknowledged the odd workings of the 5-way key and is updating it for the cases of the 6230i - check it out here.....should b compatible with the 6230 & 6230b..

Hm.....cant upload multiple pics for one msg here....check it out!!

I think I'lll keep an eye out for one with a woodgrain back/side plates....

U can mod the operator, startup, and shutdown logo....hmmm..I think there was mention of the group logos there too....cant 'member...

Hmmm...cant recall....I keep the 6230 for special occasions....hmmm...Apparantly, I know it was the latest for the 6230b, without the netmonitor software.....

Since u say in your profile that u have 2 of them with netmonitor, do you have a transferrable copy of the ROM for your phones? Do you know if it could be installed viz the phones IR-port?

Problem is your assuming, try Oxygen. Oxygen claims it can handle the 6170/6170b....dont b shy..

Ohya, if u c a pic that you'd like for your phone, try this:

1) Save it to your computer, convert if necessary to .jpg-format
2) Dload/start Oxygen.
3) Use Oxygen to set it up in your phone, like I mentioned in my previous msgs

I`m having exactly the same problem, SAVING FAILED. Even tried a factory reset but when I try to download another logo it will not save and the section to turn off Operator logo is now greyed out so its permanently on now!!!

Ok....is your phone still locked so you can only use it with the cell-company yur with now and that it'll reject other comp's SIM's? I've heard that'll interfere with Op-logo issues on some Nokias...

I'd email Oxygen too since (I assume) yur using Oxygen software to save/erase your logo

Well, like I said, I've heard that'll interfere with Op-logo issues on some Nokias...I believe Nokia offers that to your company (T-Mobile) as a feature/part of their phone locking procedure, along with denying you access to WAP/GPRS settings, MMS settings, etc. -to help maintain the identity of the phone as coming from T-mobile....I think I tried uploading an op-logo from an over-the-air service a while ago to both my 3100b's & 6230b I mention in my profile and it didnt work cuz they're both still locked..-but my 6230 is unlocked and it worked as I mentioned earlier.

Since yur in Birmingham I'm sure theres unlockers ready to help you out immediately and very quickly all over.....go for it....you'll b able to use your 6230 on other companies over there other than T-Mobile and if you do any travelling in mainland Europe as well to avoid roaming fees get a better deal perhaps than what T-mobile offers...etc...theres a few benefits over there to unlocking your handset.

I have a locked Cingular USA 6230b, I got my blank op logo to work just fine. As a matter of fact, when I DO see the Cingular op text on my screen, it usually means I'm on a non-Cingular tower...kinda handy.

Oh, make sure the operator logo option is ON. Can't use the blank logo unless it's on.
