So I just bought a Cingular T637 from an authorized dealer (not a Cingular store) when I go into the service menu via >*<<*<* under the SIMlock menu each of the four items have an UNLOCKED padlock with the number 5 next to them. Is it really unlocked? What does the 5 signify? I don't have a sim from a different provider to test with.

Thanks in advance!
Rob

Edit: Ok, after reading deeper into the forum I figure it is actually unlocked, but what are the 5's ?

I believe the 'number' (in your case 5) in the SIMLock screen is the of attempts to enter an incorrect unlock code before the phone permenantly locks.

If you have a locked SE phone and don't mind wasting an unlock attempt, you can verify that if the number decreases by 1.
