I was looking at the Hex Editing guide at http://www.xlr8.us/hofo and I was trying to add my own custom color style, but I am unable to get the menu available in settings > personalize. I opened up the 0032_0001.seem and set it to bit #6, added in the spcolor.sch in "a/mobile/system/" and it still doesnt work ... can someone assist me?

which offset? and bits are either on or off (check means on no check means off)

Custom Color Styles:

This hack will allow you to add your own custom color style to the Settings > Personalize > Color Style menu.
First, you need to activate the feature in the 0032_0001.seem at offset 53 , bit #6.
The custom colors are stored in a file called "/a/mobile/system/spcolor.sch" - your phone may have this file on it already, depending on your flex.

make sure you were in offset 53 and "checked" bit 6. if you need help understanding seem editing pm me and ill try to help.

that seem hack just enables the feature for your phone to allow the .sch file. p2kstyle is an excelent program that creates .sch files and saves them to your pc in .sch format. then use p2kman to upload it to your phone in /a/mobile/system/. make sure you name the file spcolor.sch. otherwise your phone wont recognize it.

Hey there.

If you want a custom color style made; either PM or email at irishknite@gmail.com with the specs you want and I'll send the file right over to you. This is by far my specialty when it comes to modding. Free of charge too! Just lemme know if you're interested and if so what you want. Laters!

I did so I opened up the 0032.0001 seem and then I went to offset 53 and clicked on bit manipulation. There were already bits checked on ... I think it was bit 7,1,2,3. I checked on the 6 and left the other checks there and saved and sent the seem to my phone and it still did not work. By the way I have a v551 for reference.

Just curious........

Did you turn the phone off, then back on after you did all that?

thats the step you missed.

restarted the phone and it still didn't work ... do i have to uncheck all the other checks on the bits too? Bits 1,2, and 7 were already pre-checked.

I'm not even sure the v551 uses color styles since it has skinning enabled. *scratches head* Is that what you're trying to do?

irish might be on to something and leave the other bits alone. they have little or nothing to do with custom colors. curiouse, how do you know it didnt work? in my phone i click on menu/personalize/color styles and then select the .svc file i uploaded using p2kstyle and it changes the colors to what i created in p2kstyle. i really think irishknight is correct though. i remember reading somewhere here in howards about skins and i think the v5xx + phones are the ones with the skin feature instead og the color styles feature. im using a v220 so in my case its the color styles. if irish is correct then you might want to change bit 6 back to original being that it might not have anything to do with your goal and could become unstable in the future.
have fun researching

It won't become unstable because the bit is useless. So there really is no reason to go back and change it unless you REALLY want to, but like I said; it's not necessary. I honestly don't know why you want color styles anyway since you have skins. If you're that unhappy with skins, I'll trade you my modded v600 for it.

I have the same problem with my v80. No matter what bits I check in 0032_0001, spcolor.sch does not show up in my p2kman folders. And just dropping it in /system in hopes of it replacing my original didn't work, either. I have read that it may be a flex issue, but I do not know if that applies to a v551 as well.
