I bought a new data cable with charging port yesterday from Nextel. I can't seem to get a connection. Whatever I try, it says it's not connected.
I tried doing a search, and didn't find much.

Sent you a PM, can you reply here as to how you fixed it?
My situation:
Win 2K Pro SP4, brand new OEM data cable, i730 and i 530 phones. Trying to use phonebook program from Iden. It worked fine on an XP computer. I downloaded all the software from the Iden website (USB drivers, phonebook manager, etc.) and when I try & use the SW, it says the phone is not connected (can't find it). Win 2K says the phone is connected as an Iden "Usb" modem on Com 3 @ 19200 baud. Win2K can diagnose the modem/phone OK.
Thanks for any help.

I finally got the phonebook app to recognize the phone. I installed the SW on my 2K Pro laptop & noticed it installed the "Flash P2K Patriot" that my desktop did not. I then found an .inf file for this in C:\program files\Motorola\iDen USB driver and manually installed it. The phonebook program is the only one that recognizes the phone, the iDen data app & all the xxjal programs do not.
I never realized how difficult it is to attach a cell phone to a computer
