Phone dead???

Hi, i have a kyocera se44. Just last night, my phone went through a whole cycle in the washing machine. The phone is just about dry, but when i turn on the phone, i get a picture of a phone connecting to a computer, what does this mean? Is my phone toast?

That means that theres a software error.
What you probably have to do is a power cycle. while the phone is on take the battery out of the phone for 20-30 minets(or longer!) When the time has ended, your phone should work. Kyoceras usually do live when washed. My Party Animal went thourought the wash and lived!

take it to carrier to have it reprogrammed. but u will have to pay for it.

that is the same error as "Service Required" meaning the hardware is damaged, try drying the phone off. If still no luck you will need to reflow the flash BGA at 350c at .5 inches for 38 seconds, with a .25x.75 nozzle.

Dont have the 10k machine to repair it? try this...

remove the board from the phone, taking everything off including the LCD. Get a ziplock bag full of rubbing alcohol. Do a shake with the PCB in the bag for about 5 minutes, then let it sit over night soaking in the alcohol.

In the morning shake it a couple more times, let it dry for a day and you should be ready to roll. Maybe put the board into a AC vent!

PS, yes this error is also caused by a software problem but not in this case. Water has shorted one or more contacts on the flash memory BGA.

ok, the phone is totally dried out, and works now, BUT, the battery can't keep a charge. When i am talking the phone dies in like 10 minutes, is this the battery that is dead, or is this the charging mechanism?
