Get past SIM prompt without SIM card?

I just purchased a used t68i and a used t226. Both of these phones are locked to AT&T. I am going to get them unlocked, but I was wondering (and hoping) if there was a way to bypass the Insert SIM screen on both of these phones and get into the menus and functions of the phones. I found the code to get to the service menu, but that doesn't do much for me. Thanks for your help!

no you cant. not to many phones have an offline mode.
