Need a little help once again....

OK ... I finally got my pst to work and I got my phone flexed and flashed to a v600. Now I have a couple of other things I would like to do and just can't seem to get it to work. First can someone point me to a very detailed how to on removing the date off of your home screen. And secondly a how to on downloading ringtones and wallpappers on to the phone. I already have the files to use , just need to know the program to use to do it. THANKS in advance.

Well I've tried what that says and I can't seem to get it too work. It says the seem that controls the date is the 01a8_0001 seem. I downloaded that from my phone to my pc. Than I dowloaded this http://xlr8.us/hofo/01a8_0001_nothing.zip and uploaded it too my phone. Restarted my phone but it still has the date on the display though. Am I just missing something?

Get motokit and try removing the date with this program.

I've already got motokit. That is what i used to remove the carriers name but how do I use it to remove the date?

I"ve tried that, doesn't work for me. I"ve tried the display nothing and the personalized text and neither one of them has any affect.

Sounds like you did every thing right, the only thing I could think of is possibly a conflect with the flash you put on your phone in regards to the date. Other then that I'm stumped??? Sorry I couldn't be any more help.

Just wonder do you have engineering menu?
If so Upload the "nothing" seem and then go to engineering -> Phone Capabilities -> Gp Auto Attach -> on.
Can't remeber the seem that controls this off hand will look when i get home (at work now).

yeah I have the engineering menu and the GPRS auto attach is set to on. my flex version is GI9V600000AA0E9 and the S/W version is TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4FR

Get moto-tool from modders.net if you dont have it already. then download the 0032_0001 seem with motokit or p2kman and open it with moto-tool then uncheck this box:

Save in moto-tool reupload this seem and the nothing seem, restart the phone and see if it worked

Try editing SEEM 010a_0001: bit 0: GPRS auto-attach at power-on (1 on, 0 off) (if bit 1 is on, auto-attach will be off).
and bit 1 off.

OK I have been thinking about what I"m doing wrong most of the day. So I have a question, After I make a back up of the 01a8_001 seem should I delete the original off of the phone before uploading the edited version, or is it just suppose to overwrite the original?

You can't delete the original, only overwrite it. I also have been thinking about the problem you are having and can't figure out what's going wrong. If anything comes to me I'll be sure to post.

Thanks, I appreciate all the help I"m sure it is something simple that I am just overlooking. You think it might help if I did a master reset or master clear before I tried it again?

It's suppose to be 01, so that's not the problem. Try downloading seem 01a8_0001 and opening it up in the hex editor: it should be 00 20 00 00. The rest of the seem should all be FF.

Make sure you save the seem in hex editor after editing it, then upload it.

ok I think I may have found the problem maybe you can tell me. I downloaded the 01a8 seem and opened it with the hex program and it was 00 20 and the rest was 00 and not FF could that be the problem? If I change all the 00's to FF's and uploaded it to my phone would that fix it?

Ok I was curious so I opened the the blank 01a8 seem I downloaded from here http://xlr8.us/hofo/01a8_0001_nothing.zip in the hex editor and it was 00 00 and the rest were FF's.

that didn't work either. changed the 01a8 seem to 00 20 00 00 and the rest FF and uploaded it to the phone. resarted the phone and the date is still there. any other seems that may need edited?

Made my 01a8 seem look exactly like yours without the date uploaded it and the date is still there. Any chance you can give me screen shots of what the other seems that effect the date look like? You think maybe I should reflex or reflash my phone and start all over? I'm just lost for what to do.

I think

that's the only seem the controls the date. Other then the 0032_0001 seem that controls the (GPRS Active Text) in pic that I posted before.

ok I really appreciate all the help and ideas. I have one more question though. Which should I do reflash or reflex? I got my flash and flex off of motomodders so I don't think there is anything wrong it but I could have messed something up messing with the phone before I actually understood what I was doing.

I personaly have never done either to my 505's. But my guess is Flex? You decide:

1: Flexing is adding or removing features that the service provider added or removed. Some providers have the idea that they know what you want in your phone, and to keep you from being confused remove what they think you don't need. A flex file is just the software for thefeature.

2: Firmware is software that controls hardware. For your phone the firmeware is the software that controls the phone.

OK now I'm having another problem I reflashed and reflexed my phone and now it won't let me set the time....lol I mean I go through and change it but it wont' take my changes. It just stays at what it wants too. Any idea?
