If you want to use MSN Messenger from your phone, the following software is free and works quite well. The graphic interface is not as nice as other software that you have to pay for, but hey, it is free!!!!!

Yes, I use it. It has MSN, Yahoo, ICQ and AIM on it. It can connect to all 4 IM at the same time.

For AIM you'll probably want to use Verichat.

Im guessing it would use data, any idea on about how much data it would use??

Approximately one byte per character (sorry - couldn't resist)

Thanks :P

but when your on msn it is always refreshing and when someone signs on or wtv it will notify you......

so there is more than just characters.

im guessing its not really worth it

It is worth it. Over head is minimal. The software has a "data traffic monitor". Minimal bytes. It cuts down on SMS messages (remember it costs money to send an SMS) and using up your voice minutes during the day. I love it. And it is instant.

Very true, it may almot be better off to lower my text message plan and add a data plan.

Monthly Plans Included Data Additional Data Usage
$3 ¼ MB 3 ¢
$7 1 MB 2¢
$12 2 MB 1¢

not so bad..... but i dont know if u use msn enough:P

I tried Agile and had problems connecting with MSN. Yahoo was a breeze but MSN was very tricky. I am testing some software for a guy who is developing a MSN only messenger called QuickIM. So far it'sa nice but does not incorporate background always on mode.

He posted at the Treocentral boards looking for testers.

Try the latest version of Agile. I have never had any problems. It works great. Send me the link for QuickIM.

The Sprint Vision pack gives you unlimited data so you will not be charged for messaging through the web or surfing the web. You should however double check your terms of service to make sure.

I don'tsee the Treo 650 listed as a supported device?

Thanks,
