I bought a Nokia 3650 from USA. The phone is tri-band
850MHz / 1800MHz / 1900MHz .

My country uses following GSM frquencies;
900MHz / 1800MHz / 1900MHz .

The phone would not sign on to my cellphone provider's network.
I tried sim cards from 4 different providers. None work. Phone is Unlocked. It powers on fine and i am able to explore all menu options and use camera. But it keeps on searching for network and cannot find one.

Is it due to the fact that the phone is USA Tri-Band (850MHz) and my country is 900MHz?

Is there a way i can make this phone work in my country?

There is nothing you can do to make your phone support 900 instead of 850.

x2

sounds like you're in a 900mhz only area.
There your 3650 would be a good alarm clock or paperweight
you might be able to put up a post in the marketplace to trade for a 900/1800/1900 3650 though

There is no GSM 850-capable 3650 for the US. The phone the original poster is referring has to be the 3600 which is GSM 850/1900.

If you're in a GSM 900/1800 country, you need to have the 3650. Look under the battery to see which of the two you have.
