E398 creating DIR for skins

hey whats happenin' everyone, i am currently trying to create a skin directory on my e398 but when i select the flex file on pst 6.7 it suspends my fone and turns off automaticaly, then i have to restart my fone, is this normal?????, the directory is also not there.
also when i try skin swaping i try to swap the skarlet skin from the v3 on to my fone overiting the t-mobile skins, but once it is done non of the icons appear, can any one tell me what i am doin wrong, i am naming the ski and dat files exactly the same as the t-mobile, but it just doesnt work!!
can some one please help , thanx in advance .
