8900: Can data cable be able to get old firmware?

I recently changed my VZW phone with another phone. I called their operator to do my ESN change. They led me through a couple of calls and one updated my firmware. I did not want to do that, but I was unaware of it until I had updated it. I know, I should had did the ESN change online. So now, I'm wondering if there is a way to get an older version firmware with data cable? Or is there another way? Also, if it is able to, would eBay's non-oem data cable be able to?
