i have a 7520 and the blackberry web bowser it will not load a lot of pages and no pic on the pages what is the best browser out there

Posted by: martin_j001

I assume you are referring to the stock NOL browser that comes loaded on the bb. The ONLY html browser out there (unless you are on a BES that is) is Reqwireless Webviewer--it allows full html browsing, similar to what is on a pc. www.reqwireless.com

Webviewer is not the only browser. It is excellent but I also have the BB browser and it is just as good (i'm not talking about NOL). I am on BWC not BES.

Are you paying for the BWC? If not how did you get it?

Good job, you pointed me out as being wrong because you somehow got your hands on the RIM html browser. Until everyone on Nextel BWC can do this, my former post will be correct. Thanks for playing though.

martin_j001,

I sense some sarcasm in your post. I wasn't trying to point you out as being wrong; I was just stating a fact. If you go back and read my post, you'll see that in no way was I questioning your expertise. In fact given your number of posts you've probably forgotten more about BB then I've learned. Don't take things so seriously. Anyway, sorry if I offended you...

I apologize as well that I took your post the wrong way. Would you care to inform us of how you have in fact acquired the RIM html browser with BWC? Is this something all us BWC users can look forward to?

I'll second that.............

I was having a problem with webviewer one day; although I didn't believe the problem had anything to do with BWC, out of frustration I just thought I'd try re-sending the service book from the BWC site. The BB browser mysteriously showed up on my 7520. I posted about this several weeks ago (might have been on another BB forum), and didn't get many replies. Now I have 2 html browsers and toggle back and forth just as I do on my PC. I heard on one of these forums that this is coming soon for all BWC users--those contemplating Reqwireless can save their money if they don't mind waiting. However it's kind of nice to have both...

Unfortunately its not something that can be sent in an email. What he has is access to a service book that we do not have access to yet, as the RIM browser is already built in to os4.0 and can be accessed by those on a BES.

Okay, so, just for fun, let's pretend that there are those of us here that are still novices in the ways of the Blackberry, and don't yet know how to do certain things. In fact, let's NOT pretend. Just take it for granted that this is the way things are, mmmmkay?

Now, since we've accepted that state of affairs, howsabout a tutorial to tell others, step-by-step, what you did when resending the service books to yourself? That way, maybe, if we're lucky, others who are using Nextel's Web Client will be able to duplicate what you did, so that more people can have access to the official RIM/BB HTML Web Browser.

Not sure what you are asking. (I assume your note is directed at me). I did exactly what is in my post. The BB browser didn't show up because of anything special on my part--I guess I just got lucky.

Posted by: Mark Rejhon

The full browser service book was sent to a few Nextel users.... However, this is an exception rather than the rule, unfortunately...

Hopefully the full browser service book will become standard on Nextel, eventually...

I am asking you specifically HOW you re-sent the service book(s) to yourself!

Here's what you said earlier:

What I want to know is HOW did you "re-send the service book from the BWC site"?!?

I've never re-sent the Service Book(s) to myself, so I don't know how you go about doing this. In other words, WHAT website did you go to (be sure to post a direct link to the website in question)? What command/option/whatever did you select to re-send the Service Book(s) to yourself? Give the rest of us instructions on what you did, and be SPECIFIC. Don't take it for granted that everyone just automatically knows what you mean from one kinda vague sentence. Give a more detailed explanation so that others can do what you did. With luck, maybe some will be able to get the RIM BB browser just like you did.

Theoretically speaking:
(Instructions from www.BlackBerryForums.com)

1. Login to your BlackBerry Web Client Account (BWC/BIS)

2. Click "Profiles"

3. Scroll down, click "Send Internet Browsing Service Book".
(If it only says "Send Service Book", try that, but you may be out of luck)

From the "HTML Internet Web Browsing FAQ" from www.BerryFAQ.com

Jack T. Chance,

I did exactly what Mark wrote in his post. There was no intent to be vague. Since I've seen references many, many times before to resending service books on BB boards before (and nobody questioned it), I assumed people knew what this involved. Good luck in getting it to work for you...Vidsmart

For WAP broswer not html browser, are there other available for download and install other then the one came with carriers? Just like Reqviewer as an example, but something to view WAP sites not html.

No other wap browser available. Why would you want another one???

Posted by: Eternity

I've checked with Telus technical regarding the problem I had from this thread http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...threadid=599755

Not able to access wap Hofo from my 7510. They said its probably not supported on the Telus 7510 wap browser. I mentioned about other bb models were able to navigate the entire site no problem, but they said it has nothing to do with my case, file closed.

Hmmmmm....a wap browser should be able to access any and all wap sites--thats exactly what they're designed for. Have you tried reloading/updating the os on your bb?

Cool! Thanks Mark. You always come through with the cool info.

So, I tried it. I received the confirmation email, rebooted my machine (soft reset, that is), and... nothing. The BlackBerry HTML Browser is still "locked" or "hidden". Oh well, it was worth a shot, anyway.

Yup. I upgraded from 3.7 to 4.0. Tried removing completely and reinstalling everything. The person from technical doesn't really seemed to fully understand what I was talking about. I just don't know what the problem is..

Try accessing the forums directly, use the GoTo feature and type in this address to see if it works:

RIM forum-- www.howardforums.com/wap/ListThreads.php?f=221

Make sure to type it in exactly as its written above, capitals and all. If it does work, bookmark it before doing anything else, then get back to me as to what other addresses you'd like on hofo and I'll post the links as well.

Posted by: Eternity

Tried typeing exact same address. Not worky, same error message.
