cant get my laptop to use my p900 as modem thru I R

using tmobile unlimited gprs, and i cant get laptop to access internet thru infra red via p900 ... i ran DUN wizard and set up everything, but im getting error messages when dialing for access.. any ideas???? i can transfer via ir, and it recognizes, just getting darn error message!!
any help would be appreciated
maybe i should harass tmobile ?
