Maybe his friend at Nextel is going on a vacation.

it was inevitable, you can only take so many cookies out of the cookie jar before you get caught with your hand in it.

Actually Blaze.... I heard his site got hacked... they maybe got his codegen is what I was told... Dont know if it is correct or not...

Posted by: caponez

we'll, this sucks.

i personally have never used his service...but i feel bad for people that were in the middle waiting for an unlock and are only going to get a refund..they now have useless brick.

Posted by: sewano

i hope he can fix this quick...........or someone figures out how to do it

I hate to say this, but I think his

More like his "mole" got "fired". :laughs:

Anyone who thinks he was using a code generator is simply foolish. It was an inside job with someone who had access to the phone database where the info is stored.

Apparently Nextel (or possibly Moto) finally figured out who was providing the info and decided to let them seek employment elsewhere.

The good news is that AIM Steven is no longer charging upwards of $40 for unlocks.

The bad news is it looks like unlocking Boosts may become a thing of the past.

Too bad, especially since the Boosts were usually much nicer looking than the cr@p Nextel markets.

Hack meaning mole of course

and as I said before in another thread
that was "locked" (as are boost phones)

aimsteven is now>> mia-steven

no one will ever get this going again. It hasn't been done yet and I dont see it happening.

You might be right, but then again the motivation has never been higher.

You could always count on Steven to get the unlock done (even if the price was hefty), so the real effort might not have been there.

Now... Who knows.

But even if it does happen Moto/Nextel can just change it again and we are back to zero.

relax guys, it says hes taking a week off to tweak his program on his site

Posted by: redragon745

the website I have says it will be "months" not a week Carl.

Posted by: inomad

I'd assume it's more like he won't be back doing it at all.

Posted by: sewano

Maybe youīre right with all this.......now i have to get rid of two i860 that i bought last week.....
(i canīt use them with boost because iīm in Mexico)
i also tried to acces his website and its off...........

His website originally said it would be a week or so.

He has since updated it to say it could take a couple of months.

I hate to admit it, but it definitely sounds like he lost an insider. There is no way an error in his program would take him months to fix...

true. program unlocking cannot generate codes i think. how can the program know what phones comes out with what EMI/Sim/Serial number before its made? without going into thier Main frame computer for updated serial/EMI,etc etc.? like DirecTV, Moto is a big company and will do what ever it takes to stop their money taking "schemes" from anyone.

BTW, i am glad i jump ahead and got mine unlocked before this, and the Boost tattoo price Increase.

yea i saw the tattoo went up in price too wtf!!

Posted by: sewano

i donīt think motorola cares......because theyīre still selling phones.....
the only one thatīs being affected is nextel...

and maybe could do a key generator like the ones you find for programs like office, or video games...

Posted by: alinkrod

Ok guys and gals.... I THINK I have a solution for the boost unlocking... Before everybody starts jumping and holering... This is an Idea.... I need some information to test it with.....

First I need:
1. An UNMODDed I860 "Nextel" cp to use as referance.
2. willing vic's who have a boost phone AND a Nextel Sim to see if it comes up with the "Enter Unlock code" message after I mod their CP. You also have to know how to READ and WRITE your CP to your phone....DUH!!!!!...

LOTS of waiting and understanding on you all part...

Sorry no NUBIE'S on this project..... I dont have alot of spair time right now with work, home, family and the mother-in-law going thru a nasty devorice....

Wish me luck!!!

Later Rod
ps... DO NOT flood me with emails and pm's.. I will answer as I can and only to the people helping with this project... and it will be first come, first served.....

Actually, this is incorrect. Most software unlocking programs generates codes based on the IMEI number. Nokia definitely does, at least they did when I used to unlock phones for cingular, at&t, etc... It's all based on algorithms...

exactly.. so if you could compile enough unlock codes and cross-reference them with their IMEM/SIM you might be able to recreate the cipher...

Posted by: alinkrod

so far the information that I have gathered over the past few months shows the unlock code can be gotten by using the IMEI or ser no. the question is then:
If there are code gens for other Moto phones, why not IDen... do you really think Moto would go to all the hassle of reengineering all the SW and HW??? Dont know.. But dont think so..

At this point I would say all signs point to yes.

I know there are standalone code generators for other Moto units, but to my knowledge, for iDen handsets it IS different, and the only way was to get it from the system. So far a few Moto reps have also said to their knowledge there is no standalone program for iDen units. Not saying it doesn't exist, but if it does, Moto's iden division is good at keeping secrets.

Posted by: alinkrod

ok... so where do we find the stand alone's for the other moto units??? anybody have any or info where to locate???
any information would be great!!!

thankyou. its funny where greed ultimately leads you to.

I really don't have interest enough in the other ones. I just know they exist, and leave it at that. I prefer to keep my job.

Indeed. In this case freedom (from employment - incarceration for theft from one's employer is another matter), sometimes freedom is not such a welcome outcome.

Other times freedom can be quite pleasant, like from an opressive situation - you find yourself in a whole new Area...

But keep in mind, its not just Steven's (or his mole's) greed. Each and every customer contributed to the problem as well. And, in fact Nextel's greed helped too - since they were undoubtedly the driving force behind the changes to the unlock method.

Plenty of greed to go around. :laughs:

OTOH - Where would Donald Trump be without greed?

My personal opinion is Nextel should just sell the unlocked Boost phones at (or slightly above to cover NRS unlock) the regular price for the same model phone. You want it for Boost service you get the reduced price, but if you want to use it with your Nextel service its just like buying up any other phone.

Not that it will ever happen. Nextel has (time and again) proven that they lack the corporate imagination to do something so obvious as give their customers choice.

I'm just thankful I got my Boost i730 before the shat hit the fan.
