p910a phonebook question.

When i synced the phone with outlook it put all the numbers in in this format (888) 888-8888 thats all fine and good, but when i send a text and i go to sent it says exactly that. it doesnt tell me who i sent it to unless in the phone book the number is in form 8888888888 Is this correct? Do i need to go through the entire phone and change every number?
